Controls for "Out of cab experience"
You can also do it by selecting 'in cab view' and then using your mouse and the [ ] keys to move around a bit.
An added refinement is to hold the Ctrl button whilst using the described square bracket keys then you can snap immediately to the next view, as an alternative to the default “glide” between views.
.
Using what? The freeintcam? It basically allows you to move freely around the cab. I haven't used it in a while, but I think it is either the right clicker and moving the mouse around or using the arrow keys that will allow you to do this once you have it in the trainzoptions file.
Yes. That’s right.
With the mouse hold RMB and rotate the mouse to view at any lateral and/or
vertical angle. The viewpoint is essentially at the centre of a globe.
You can also use the PageUp and PageDown arrows to gain or lower the height of your viewpoint. You can go really high if you want, although it's fairly slow progress. Take care, though, if you go underground when everything will turn pale blue and be very disorientating. If this happens, look up and find the sky to get your bearings when you should also see some assets and a disembodied view of the loco you have moved from (if you haven’t moved too far away). You should also see the rails of the track without the sleepers (ties) or ballast. All will re-appear correctly when you PageUp to resurface, except for the loco which will always appear as a disembodied cut down version; (it’s really only intended to be viewed from the cab). All other rolling stock, including all the other locos, will appear OK. It’s only the loco being driven that behaves in this way.
In addition, you can move laterally as far away from the cab view as you want using the four arrow direction keys. Use simultaneous mouse movement for very precise placement. Great for framing screenshots.
Finally there is a great magnification feature. Roll the mouse wheel for an impressive zoom. I think it is around x10.
