How to get terrain following track gradient

Is there an easy way to make the terrain follow the track slope/gradient in Trainz Simulator 12? What I mean is, if you are laying a siding track to a "ground level" industry off of an elevated branch-line, how do you make the ground elevation and track follow the same gradient down to ground level? Seems if I get the track at a good gradient/slope, the only way to adjust the terrain is to adjust the elevation of various circles to try to follow the gradient, but seem to end up with a series of "volcanos" of decreasing height with space under the track along the way. There must be an easier way......

When you apply a gradient ... you then hit "Smooth Spline" tool and it raises the ground up to a point -0.02m under the track.

You apply gradients by typing in a numeral, such as 0.50% ... then hit the track with the mouse pointer just slightly ahead of the first spline point circle.

Under the track tab flyout there is a bar at the bottom called advanced. Click to open. Then find "smooth spline height". Click it. Then click on track segment(s) where you want the terrain to meet the track.

I got beat
