How to control the "density" of an applied texture in TS2012? Is there a tutorial?

I'd appreciate information (or a pointer to a tutorial) on how to control the density of an applied texture using TS2012.

For some time I've been envious when I see someone else's screenshot and one or more of the applied textures appears as "just of hint" of the applied texture on top of previously applied textures.

When I try to apply just a hint of the texture it seems to be applied "full-force" (for lack of a better term) and effectively "overpaints" the underlying texture.

Changing the "scale" adjustment on the texture panel (at least for me) doesn't make much if any difference.

Thanks,

Wes

Don't have the radius dial set to minimum, that will tend to give you a tiny spot of all-or-nothing. Set the radius the smallest amount possible above minimum. Other than that you just have to master the very very light tap of the mouse button, that's about the only secret to blended ground textures...

The location where you click has an effect. Experiment with a bare baseboard so that you can identify how the painting effect varies as the click point is closer to or further from the grid intersections.

Also experiment with sweeping the mouse over the region as you click. I don't know if it's the actual mouse movement or it just creates a much briefer click, but it can be very effective.
