HOG spikes issue

I'm logging in to my account for the first time in like 3 years to ask this question. I'm using TRS22 (registered on a different account, that was set up using my FULL LEGAL NAME as the account name... arrgghh!) to attempt to recreate a local crossing by my house. The problem? I am attempting to use MicroDEM and HOG to do this, as I am too cheap to buy TransDEM (at least right now ;) ), but it creates a field of spikes instead of any meaningful terrain. Zooming out it's definitely visible that it was trying to make elevation, but just didn't succeed. I knew that it would generate some weird spikes and holes and such, but not to this degree. Any ideas?

HOG & MicroDEM et al only worked successfully with early versions of Trainz prior to the ground files being updated to cater for 5m grid size.
Looks like you may need to get TransDEM.

HOG spikes... That is nothing new. I remember those from way back when I used MicroDEM and HOG.

Welcome back! Trainz is addicting.
