Help... Please?

Hello Everyone,

Following an error with my CMP the problem has escalated to mess up my Trainz Software full stop. When I open the launcher.exe to do ANYTHING I just get "A fatal error has occured" Something to do with C:/Program Files/Auran/TRS2006/Bin/Launcher.exe :confused:

Any help is much appreciated,
 
Alright, first off, is that file even there when you go into the 2006 folder? If it's not, then there is your problem and it means you need to reinstall. You may have to reinstall as it is, but let some experts on diagnosing 2006 problems tell you that or otherwise before you go ahead and do that. if you've got a lot of downloaded or custom content, there is a specific process you need to go through in order to insure you keep them. I don't remember it, as I haven't needed to reinstall for so long. I'm sure someone will tell you.
 
All your content in 06 is located in the Local folder this is what you need to save.
Before you do that can you try to go to program files auran TRS2006 and open now click on the TRS2006 exe and see if the launcher open if it does will 06 start up if you click on Start or will CMP open if you choose that option.
If not before you go ahead and uninstall give this a try .
With the 06 folder open delete the assets TDX file then go to the Cache folder
and remove the assets bku file if you have one then re open the launcher .
You may have to wait for a while before you can open Cmp or start 06 as the data base is being rebuilt once this has been done you may find the problem has been resolved.
 
Copy the local folder and the file assets.tdx and move to somewhere safe. After you reinstall 2006, replace the same folder and file with the copies you saved.
