Help on how to put a route and session onto a DVD

CRO

If it ain't broke...!
Is there a way to isolate the assets for a route and/or session so they can be copied to a DVD?
The reason I ask is that I would like to send a route and session to a retired mate of mine who only has dial-up internet.
The total size of the D/l is about 600mb which he just can't contemplate.
I d/l'd the route and session using CMP, so it was automatically installed. I assume the relevant files are scattered throughout my data files.

Assuming you are in a later version of Trainz the route is easy: right click the route > Show Dependencies > Show in Main List. Now add a filter to the search, AND > Locally Modified = True. That will remove built-ins and DLS assets. Select everything that's left, right click one of them and save to cdp. You should check if any of those asstes have sub-dependenies, but most route assets wont.

In theory the session works the same way, but if there is rolling stock it is more complicated because you need to also search for sub-dependencies and sub-sub dependencies. There will definitely be lots! You can either save each level of dependencies to cdp or assign a common keyword to each level then keyword search and save....

Dermmy,

Thanks for steering my 'grey matter' in the right direction. I thought there would be a way in CMP, but was not aware of the 'export to CDP' option.
I hope to do the Oxford to Queens route and Ode to Billegulla for an old friend who loves the Australian stuff. Should keep me busy for a day or 2.

Tks

While I was working on the suggestion given by Dermmy, the 'old bloke' decided he didn't like Trainz compared to Railworks. He decided to upgrade to RW 2013,
and wiped Trainz to get the space on his drive. In his opinion, Trainz was just too difficult for someone who was more interested in driving Trains than becoming a computer whiz kid.
Each to his own.

I have to agree -I have both. Each comes into its own depending on the 'mood' I am in - and they both compete with FSX for computer time....
