Help finding a Chain Link Fence

G'day jordon412,

...there most certainly is one available (and only one of which I am aware), although it isn't in quite the pristine condition of the one in your image, it can be found bearing the title...

"Chain Link Wire Fence 4Ft."

...with the kuid number <kuid2:68213:37062:2> and comes highly recommended due to it's creator being "Dinorius Redundicus"...

Jerker {:)}

Thanks. That one I did consider, but looking on the DLS, that was the best one. I just wish there was a matching 4ft chain link fence gate.

I have one board with just fences I'v collected from many TRZ sites.
50+
May still have one installed under a different name I haven't found it yet.

I was surprised that no one has made a nice new 4ft residential chain-link....hint...

I was meaning to update that 4ft chain link fence (again) to make the poles a little thinner, to add a non-rusted version, and to add American-style 4ft gates to the series. Alas, I ran out of time before the stupid life cycle of TS2010 ran out. So hint all you like, but I can't upload anything more to the DLS until T:ANE arrives.

The best I can offer right now is an non-rusted 6ft chain link fence, <kuid2:68213:37068:1> on the DLS. I guess you could bury it to make it 4ft high. However the gates that go with it would not look like the residential gate in the photo.

Jerker however has TS12 and nothing but time on his hands, so I'm sure he can help out. :hehe:

There is a Built in spline fence that may do in a pinch , however it is meant for platform height but can be lowered .
Look for 'Fence QR 4platform 2' < -12 :40> No gate too match though !

The DLS is still taking 09/10 uploads. I just had some stuff approved last night.

@Jordan412

I've submitted 2 chain link fence splines (4ft-high, one rusty, one 'new') and gates to go with them (4ft-high, 1 pair rusty and 1 pair 'new') to the DLS. The 'new' items have a slightly sky-reflecting bump-mapped texture, meant to be un-rusted galvanized metal.

I don't know if they will get onto the DLS before the TS2010 cut-off happens. All done in a bit of a rush. I hope they are OK.

Let's see what you can do with them!

wow those look great especially the gate really something you don't see anymore at least myself in a while...fantastic job sir!

Thanks for the compliments!

i just got word from the upload robot that all fences and gates have been accepted and should be available inside of 24 hours.

@dricketts - you might recognize the gates - borrowed them from my 'Cemetery gates Cliquot' asset since I was short on time!

Hi Malc

Don't let me stop you. I've seen lots of variants while researching American fence/gate websites. Mine are just examples and I'm sure our 'community' could do with more choice. FYI, the top horizontal bar of these gates has a Z height of 1.25m, in case you want to make some others of the same scale. If I'd had more time I would have done some with rounded corners on the outer frame, and possibly others with a complete inner frame holding the wire mesh. These are real Americana. I just don't see such fancy chain link gate designs down here in Oz. The wire mesh is simply attached to the outer frame, there are no tensioners. Our gates are very cheap and nasty compared to US designs.

Jinkies Dinorius! THANKS! I've been waiting for new 4ft Fencing for the better part of a Year! And yes, they look well done.

By the by, a big part of the reason why they were popular was starting in the 70s/80s, after chain Link Fence production got to be moderately cheap, Sears (Big Department Store up here that used to be a major way people bought major home improvement Items) did a "Home Fence Installation" Service, in Chain link. There were a series of options that came with these, Height and Gate styles like Car sized Gates were all options. As you've seen the smaller person sized ones were the most popular, and these all came in a variety of options particularly as time carried on.

Thanks again,
Falcus
