Headlights at daylight

Hi

At the moment, I'm building a layout with a lot of tunnels (the tunnels are splines, not the usual track tunnels) ; inside, these tunnels are dark, even at daylight. (gloom effect)
When I'm driving trough these tunnels, it's only possible to use the headlights at night; that looks strange, because normally in tunnels there is no difference between day and night.
Is there any way to make headlights give light at daylight? (I'm using TS2009)

I don't know about 2009, but in my version of 2004 there is a button on the panel to turn the lights on & off, it's next to the pantograph up/down button.

Try the Headlights ON! rule available on the Download Station (or may even be built-in).

This rule allows you to set the headlights to be on at certain times, but if you set start and end times to 0:00:00, then the lights are on permanently.

Thanks for your suggestions, but that's not what I meant: I know how to switch on/off the headlights, they just don't work properly.

This is the situation at night

This is the situation in the daytime:

At night, it works fine; at daytime, the headlights are on but they don't illuminate the environment.
Is there a way to make the headlights illuminate the environment at daytime too? (Like in TRS2004, I believe)

I think that's a config.txt edit - light 1 needs to be added to the tunnel asset config using Content Manager and Notepad.

One of the other users here may be able to advise further on this.

In TRS2006 and newer, the headlight 'beam' does not turn on during the day.

If you wish to have headlights turn on within tunnels, subways, etc, then you will need to use a 'tunnel' track. You can make a 'track only' tunnel track by adding the following tag to the config.txt file (TC3+ only)

Code:
istunnel 1

Note, if you modify an existing track, it will change this for all areas on all maps that use that track. You should only do this with cloned versions of the track, or your own tracks assets.

Your other option is to use an existing tunnel track (e.g. 'VR SG Wood Tunnel' on the DLS).
