If you think this situation is bad, you wait until you see what's on the horizon!
I have no inside knowledge, and I haven't been talking to anyone, but I'm casting my mind back to about 2 years ago, and a public conversation that took place with Auran's top dogs here on these forums.
If I'm right, it will defintely mean the end of my Trainz journey.
Can anyone else remember said conversation, and to what I'm referring to?
Maybe you just weren't paying attention, or you have a vested interest.
Why am I bringing this up again?
Because after only one week since I mentioned this, there's the first sign that I may be right.
What was I referring to when I mentioned something said a couple of years ago?
Online activation of Trainz to avoid piracy.
Nothing wrong with kicking those warez kiddies into touch, but online activation means that your game can only be run while Auran are in business.
Does anyone really want to spend years building routes just for them to be useless at the end?
What am I referring to when I say that there's signs I might be right?
The thread about that idiot warez peddler, and what he did to mcguirel's new speedtrees.

It's not conclusive proof that what was foretold a couple of years ago is going to happen, but it's the thin end of the wedge.
But if Trainz required Internet activation in future versions, then I wouldn't buy it.
If I was the only person to think this way, that's fine.
But you'll only be able to use your software at Auran's will.
Let's hope I'm wrong, and Auran see the dangers of going down this road.
Smiley.
