The D1 class of locomotive were built by English Electric for AIS - Australian Iorn and Steel for use in the Port Kembla Steel works --- they needed the big cooling fans as they spent most of there time doing very heavy shunting around the confines of the very hot areas of the steel blast pots and other area of the steel works.
These were geared very low and in notch 5 Parallel only had a top speed of around 20 KMP. They had a series/parallel switch manualy operated in the cab. They only had 1 motor per bogie which side rods to transfer power to all drive wheels.
You can play with it in trainz if you down load the model under then name of bearcat245 -- me.
Well it has been 2 days, Its time to put it up for Dibz, Please everyone, Re-Read the rules, They have been changed after a while.
But anyway, Lets pass the turn to whoever calls Dibz! Be quick!
