The 70 class was built by Commonwealth Engineering at Granville, NSW Australia for the New South Wales Govenment Railways, its shown in the Tuscan Livery.

The first unit was in service on August 15th, 1960. There were 10 units in the class, numbered 7001-7010.

They spent most of there lifes at Port Kembla, where they are shown in the photo - they often worked in pairs with 7010 coupled with 7004 for many years.

They have a 12 cylinder turbo-supercharged 4 stroke Caterpillar D397 engine.

They weigh 48.8 tonnes and have 550 HP available for traction.

There is one for trainz built by Ad602000

Happy star wars day to you all - may the fourth be with you

1. Hang on a sec, I recognise that wheel config. A ride on garden railway locomotive that you could buy had that type of wheel config. The loco's name was Hercules. That is all I can give at the moment on the class.
2. I have no idea where they were used.

3. I dunno, but that big fan looks....interesting.
4. I am not sure.
