Ground height issue in TrainzPlus

My Durango to Silverton route. I have reset the world origin at Durango to 0 meters. Going to a tall mountain and attempting a ground height lower OR raise results in a hole being dug to who knows where? I assume 0 meters. Ctrl Z of course restores to original. I'm still using SP5.

Looking for help please,

Randall

Settings are default for the tool.
Next question, what is the height of that tall mountain? The maximum heights allowed are 3000m above and below the zero height level.

When you changed the world origin height to zero metres, what was its original value? I am thinking that it is possible, for example, that if it was at a low value such as -500m and the height of the tall mountain was originally 3000m then the summits new height would be 3500m which is above the 3000m limit. So using the tool is forcing it back to its maximum allowed height of 3000m. Just speculating.

@pware

The 3,000m limit is the issue. World origin was set at zero. I reset to zero again because I could...grin. To further test/investigate..... In the tools menu for ground height, I set the ground height to raise and 3000m then gradually went up the mountain side raising terrain until it started digging a hole. I suspect the mountains are in excess of 6000m. It is interesting that the map converted from Trainz2019 to Trainz22PE with the original mountain heights. All editing to the mountains can be done with the exception of ground height.

Making a new map with transdem software how is this limit addressed?

Export the route in TransDEM using the T: ANE version as you normally would, but do not open it in Trainz.

Take the freshly minted route and open it up in TransDEM. Under the Trainz menu, you can adjust the height of the route. Using a bit of math, you can raise or lower, or in this case, lower the route as needed.

Once this is done, import the route into Trainz.

I highly recommend making a backup of your original route prior to doing this, otherwise you'll have to regenerate the route again.

To make the process easier, I changed the default path for route export to a folder called Route Export. All my TransDEM routes are exported to this folder, making things a lot easier to find and backup.

If I remember correctly, I usually lower the terrain 1500 meters for that part of Colorado. That allows the mountain tops to be included.

I should add that when I try to change the height of the world origin in surveyor, it doesn't seem to work the way I expect. So I use TransDem usually before exporting the route to Trainz. TransDem is compatible with up to TANE sp1. So you could use it after the route is exported as John wrote.
