Grass Spline LOD Problem-disappears inthe distance?

I thought I had this fixed but grass splines quickly disappear when viewed a short distance from the viewpoint(compass). I had made a config change in the ones I used but can't remember it. Both JVC and FMA splines have the problem.
TS2012, view distance 3500, all other sliders max, spline editing detail checked

Delete the unit_mesh line in config.txt file

FMA just uploaded the entire series of spline grasses with the lod issue fixed (call me crazy but I prefer the old ones). Anyway they are on the DLS...
