Grass shadow

Hello,

I would like to ask if there is any way to edit the .txt file for textures or config. I would like to use grass from the author Toxa_Batoxa Tb grass. The side that is not illuminated by the sun is dark and in the shade and I would like to cancel this effect so that it looks the same as, for example, on grass <kuid:471011:100706> MTW JVC(TBH)Grass spline#1a-light green long.

You can't do much with this due to how the asset is constructed. The old spline grass also has other performance limitations too due to the number of polygons and surfaces they create.

The alternative is to use the TurfFX grass.

You can disable what I call the “hard shadows” by adding a “does-cast-shadows” config tag to the asset’s mesh table and giving it a value of 0. If there are several meshes listed in the mesh table (eg. several LOD meshes), put a “does-cast-shadows 0” tag under each one. For this tag to be effective, the asset must have trainz-build of at least 4.4.

That will prevent the sort of shadows that fall on the ground and move as the sun moves. However there will still be some shading on the non-sunny side of the mesh (I think it’s called ambient occlusion) which is normally a good thing for a 3D object.
