Without using Transdem can one import a picture from google earth onto a base board without knowing rocket science?

You can cut/copy/paste a google earth jpg, screenshot using the MS Snipping Tool ... pasting it onto "Basemap A" asset ... which is 1km x 1km ... using MS Paint ... but you must first measure out a 1km x 1km area in google earth, using the ruler/metric/path measurement feature

Why this game do not have Google Maps or other Maps overlay inbuilt.

I personally feel this game should have Distance Mountain generator and Google Maps Overlays.

It doses its called TrainzDEM it's a payware software mind you it can be hard to lurn but you can make fully detailed real would maps easy.
