Is it bad to use to undo/ redo buttons in surveyor? ive never had any problems but today when i clicked undo everything in the field of view disappered, only the spline points showed:confused: :'( . i panned away from there, then came back and everything was fine??? whats this mean???

I've read some posts about this issue somewhere else before. I try not to use the undo button as I've had some very curious problems with it, especially with splines.

My installation of TRS2004 was notorious for it.
I don't use undo in later versions because of my experience with it in 2004.

hey joe, i dont use speed trees. it fries my computer.

-Also every once and a while something to do with splines may cause a problem I've noticed. Example: say you lay a spline (F3 and s) in three places, and you break the middle spline (Q) and you hit undo... doesn't always work... doesn't re-connect the spline back to the way it was before you split it. ...i dunno just sayin'!

There were issues with earlier versions of Trainz, such as TRS2004 and TRS2006, with the undo button. This would cause things to go bonkers. TS12 is better with the undo, but overall I tend to avoid using the undo as much as possible. I'm a bit paranoid about everything blowing up like it did in the old days.

ive found in 2006 it will leave or hang up a script file let alone the dreaded
stretch of spline or track that travels acrosss the whole route and then the dark patches havent sen it in 2010 but then i avoid the use of those period.,
I assuming on larger routes it has more of a after effect on emmmmmm.....

-The biggest thing I hate is when using the replace asset tool... when swapping textures, it leaves those square holes every where, seems like around spline objects.

Now that is odd Mike.

It has never been a problem for me, and I've only ever used TRS2004 (build 2370).

Surveyor would be impossible without it. I'm always making corrections, particularly with textures, where the undo function is the only way that I have found to totally delete a texture whilst in Surveyor.

I use Undo and Redo and have not had much of any problems with them. There was a time a long while back when my using Undo after splines snapped caused a crash, I believe, but that was a long while back.

Regards,

Zachary.

'Undo' in 04 was notorious for issues when used in association with splines, but textures and objects were generally OK. I never used it in 04 or 06 just to be safe!

I can't recall exactly when but somewhere along the line it got fixed and I use 'Undo' in TS10 without issue, though I gotta admit i am still more likely to delete a spline than 'undo' it...

Andy ;)

Could be that it's something to do with build number then Andy.

Build 2370 was the final one that was available in the UK I believe.

Maybe we were just lucky! Never a problem with any asset, texture or spline.

Cheers
