Okey, its not Trainz related, but it is a rendering none the less... haha I found a 3D face generator online and gave it a spin.
 
I converted one of their free example meshes (Jane) from 3DS to a .im mesh in gmax. A pity it was over 12000 polys just for the head (with internals like teeth and tongue removed). Humans are difficult!

Is there an automatic method of reducing the number of vertices/polygons while still retaining the basic shapes and mapping in gmax?

It all started with me testing my new scanner and four and a half hours later....

It might end up being rescaled a bit because the the diagrams were without scale.
