GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Here's a texture test. Basically, a mesh with a rock texture as color and bump.

Hi ZapperJet -

I'm curious to learn what software you're using to create these items. It looks like Bryce - or perhaps even Vue?

Don't know if there's any interest in a small locomotive, mainly built for industrial shunting, but here's one anyway. :o

It's semi-fictional so to speak. I have a drawing but I have given myself some "artistic liberty" as well, in order to make it a bit more interesting. This is my first try at building something using more than just modified primitives, and I'm still learning. I can highly recommend Paul Hobbs' tutorials by the way. Without those I would not have gotten as far as I have.

Still a lot of pieces missing, but I'm getting there (I hope). :hehe:
Regards .... Mats

PS Can someone please point me in the right direction of a good and easy program to render images with?
I'm using Gmax wich as we all know have no built-in rendering-feature. These images are made with ToE.
Thank You.

Hi pellet :)

Yep I'll be making a 333 skin for it, right after I've figured out what (if any) the differences are between the two units. A quick glance suggests it's just the interiors but there may be more to it.

I'm not 100% certain it'll get a TRS release (I'm building it for Rail Simulator) but I thought I'd post it here as it's certainly a possibility.

Cheers,

JB

Something you NEVER want to see on a real railroad:

Just stumbled into this thread and the work here is fantastic guys. I was thinking after I saw this one that the idea of "catch points" was tossed around in another thread at one stage. Correct me if I'm wrong here but could this be modified to put into a section of track to be used as exactly that? Just a thought.

I think I'm right in saying that Andi06 released a set of catch-points in his JK track series.

What Perchpole said. It's been nearly a year since I've posted that, I guess. I don't even have that laptop now (which also means I lost that model.) I have a new* Vista laptop and I don't really plan on remaking anything.

*Not exactly, had it for several months now, 'bout.
