GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

N8phu nothing against you, but I feel you may have damaged your websites image by letting some members in to your group that are not liked by most others due to there actions. Just my two cents.

I did? when?

Only diagrams I've remotely used from you specifically chris were the GM6C diagrams that you gave to me many years ago. I made the GF6C from diagrams given to me by ANDRE from a model railroader magazine

Not sure what your group of "new members" are saying but they probably have no idea as to what's actually going on.

If you took off that detroit part, the usage of that factory would be practically infinite, worldwide :D

Looks great

Just wait for Tane 2.0... they'll get a political model in trainz and the simulated politicians will drive simulated industry into recession which will lead to abandonment and the building will fall into decay. :hehe: Don't worry, I'll make a generic version too... no signs.

G'day All,

...yep, let's change the subject, all together, shall we...

...it's been a while since I've published something here and although this last 'entry' of a project on which I have been working, is intrinsically intended for Australian use (as are the other five assets in the 'series'), this one is of such a 'global' nature that I felt the need to share it with the rest of the world here (rather than solely with the 'local' community - Australia - in the Victrainz forum). The "series" is a set of six Milking Sheds (assets sadly missing - or in abysmally small numbers - elsewhere), which range from a small shed (for a mere 4 cows), provided in three different 'guises', a medium sized shed (with two different visual variations) up to this 'monster'. The shed itself, is of a 'modern' design and construct (whereas the others are of earlier designs and constructs), suitable for installations after 1980 (heck, it could have been built yesterday), based on research conducted over the internet (I have NO connection whatsoever with the Dairy Industry - except, perhaps that I like to drink milk and eat cheese and that during my 25 year tenure on the footplate with the Victorian Railways, I probably moved more cows around the state than my fair share). The shed is provided with an internal, "walk in, back out", 40 "bail" Rotary Milking Platform (capable of handling forty cows at a time) and therefore, large farms with a capacity of several thousand of our female, 'Bovine' friends. Unlike the other models in the series, this model also includes an arrangement of 'built-in' concrete, circular Holding Pens (the other sheds' Holding Pens need to be added separately), with a loading/Unloading Ramp for the cows and two individual largish Storage Tanks for the Milk. For those who may be interested, this link...

...points to my original Topic in the Victrainz forum but be forewarned, you may need to register ( a 'free' activity) in order to read it...

...we open with a couple of 'overviews' to get an idea of the establishment...

...and follow them with some close-ups of the various 'bits and pieces'...

...notwithstanding the outside storage tanks, there's an awful lot of 'Stainless Steel" here...

...finally, a view of the inside of the shed with the roof and steel supporting structure removed for clarity, so a better view of the Rotary Milking Platform may be had...

...I am hoping that the 'global' nature of this asset will make it more attractive to a larger audience...

That's a really cool Rotary Milking barn. I have seen one of those before on the science channel, it was about the milk industry. Very nice indeed.
Thank you for showing it.:Y:

Awesome... but one question.... where's the poop?

Seriously, this is a cool asset. I live in dairy country in the "Thumb" of Michigan and it surely was recognizable, add a little weathering and it'll look genuine... though here in Michigan... it's 3F or -16C right now and milking barns are covered and heated out here. As far as the smell... we can live without that. :)

Finishing up an od project too. This is based off of the Detroit Gasket Co in Marine City, MI which is long gone now. It was serviced by the Port Huron and Detroit RR before the line was abandoned there.

I still have detail work to do with the textures and adding more overhead doors, dock for trailers and boxcars. I forgot about having this little project... one should rummage throw the gmax folders more often.

This is a large factory and would be good for background or trackside use.

Very nice Dan! Do you have plans to make McLouth Steel? My mom worked there in her early years. It's the rusty heap in Wyandotte across from Sibley Gardens. (mmmm:udrool:)

@RyansTrainz... Wow, nice signals... those oval three lights look like the type that would work good on my route I am finishing up for South Carolina and old ACL / SCL trackage.

Dan
That looks good! Are you also gonna build the Detroit Packard Plant with that LOL! :hehe: Anyway, keep up the great work on buildings.
