You should ditch sketchup or you are going to end up with tens of thousands of unnecessary polys. Sketchup is alright for making simple buildings but with a locomotive or anything with complex shapes like the handrails its going to add way more faces than necessary.

I know, most people run anything they make in sketch-up through another program to reduce the poly count (Gmax or Blender), and I'll be doing the same. I just can't get the hang of Gmax, everything just clicks in sketch-up, so I'll run it through Gmax when it is done (i do have the basics of Gmax down) and that will hopefully take care of the poly problem.

I've been learning how to use Cinema 4D this last semester at school and it's very easy to use, I'm already making train models in it and I've been using it only 3 months. The Interface is nice too. Autodesk products do have a strenuous learning curve but once you learn it, you can make masterpieces.

I guess it will a) maybe not available or b) finished in 4 years ;) :hehe:
Ps: i looked forward to things like this too, but we need to learn that we can only have things for sure if we build them ourselves :(

Greetings

Felix

It's available when it's ready. People on a forum begging doesn't mean you'll get it faster.

I may not be from the northeast, but how about a NJ Transit U34CH? I'm not interested in it, but I believe that there are some who would like to have it.

Thank you for more U30Cs. The last ones made were made all the way back for TRS 2006.

Will we be seeing some more CR & Predecessor skins? (PRR,PC,RDG(The Bees!)?), as I try my best to model just before Conrail through the late 90s, and there is a big drop off of 60-mid 80s GE Content.

I guess we can start calling ATSF854 the GE man :).

Thats what i told him :) That he only get things for sure if he makes them himself :p

Actually, that's how I got into making stuff myself. I had a few things I wanted, and figured it just wasn't going to happen unless I did it myself. Also, I control the pace. If I want it NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!!! I work on it quickly. If not, I work on it whenever I feel like it. I'm not at the mercy of someone else's schedule.
