GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

G'day tume & whitepass,

@ tume,

Yes, I discovered your 'enthusiasm' for "The Milwaukee Road" from watching some of your videos and your location is in plain sight for all to see, so I can appreciate the difficulties involved. However, it really is "a small world", these days and with the right contacts, one can overcome the Tyranny of Distance (which you seem to have done, quite splendidly, with the asset in your most recently posted image)...

@ whitepass,

...you are, indeed, correct, Sir (although I might disagree with your 'estimate' of 10') but it has to be remembered that none of the detail you see in either my or "tume's" images is actually on the model (it is all a 'trick' of some clever combination of photo-realistic textures, 'normal maps' and "the light"). Naturally, the 'effect' is going to reduce the further you get away from the 'model' but if you 'remove' the presence of the 'normal map' from the mix and replace it with a "onetex" type (or heavan forbid, a "notex" type), the 'brain' will very quickly notice this omission...

I suppose I've never released anything because my work runs in cycles. I'll have nothing to do for a month then have no free time for three. When I get that free time again I've basically lost interest in whatever I was doing before and move onto something new.

Anyways, I was playing around trying to get the extreme grungy look some of these that are still running around have:

Slap a bunch of those together and you have NS 145.

I hope they get released because they would fit perfectly for a potential route project.

G'day tume & whitepass,

Its also really hard to get high res photos for a railroad that hasnt existed for 30+ years and majority of its assets arent even around any more. I applaud Tume for the detail work he has done with the few resources that remain from the MILW.

Wow, nice work! With all the road names you have planned for that the deficit in U boats is going to get cut quickly! Lots of freeware Uboats on the horizon.
