GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Ach du meiner! Another dinosaur ;)

Well, over the years I was overtaken by the Polish crew on most of the old German steamers.

I might be able to find the Hechte on my old harddrive, I would actually get quite a kick out of restoring them to present standards.

The old steamers - however - are in a state where it would be better to start anew, I have learned a lot more about 3D modelling since those days and can make them look soooo much better now. But again, why pick up something others already have in the offering?

Dear Jorgen,
as I remember, there ware some good old German stuff, made by yojimbo.
Do You remember the Class BR36, BR78, Hechtwagen and all the others?

G'day yojimbo,

Very good point here...a train really doesn't look right in the wrong station...or enginehouse, or next to the wrong water tower or sand house, or under the wrong coaling tower...So yeah, it certainly should, because to do the trains justice, buildings need to be works of art in themselves. But alas, not enough people realize and/or respect that idea, which is why it's so flamin' hard to build good routes.

Taking a break from Frisco.

Was going through drawings and decided to do this.

Looks nice. Do you guys used pre-made parts in your models? Like, for example, the couplers, can be a separate model that you just "import" and use on any model you make, rather than modelling it each time for each model.

If you are lazy - I am and proud of it too - you learn to stockpile standard bit and bobs very quickly. While you are in the fiddling around phase, you can x-ref them into your work as external files and wait until you are completely sure, that your model is as you wish it to be, before you merge them with it.

Im not sure about everyone else, but I know that trainboi and I do.

Yes, though they don't need to be separate models, at least in Blender. I just append whatever I need from wherever it came. I. E. I made a quick flanger and light for my Rotaries by simply grabbing the light off my Mason Bogies and the butterfly plow from my C&S moguls. A simple rescaling and slight modification to the plow and all of a sudden I have what I need. Same goes for my Janney and knuckle couplers, which have been used often, and also for my bells, whistles, coupler drawbars, safety valves, springs, and Stephenson valve gear(yes, I only ever mad one Stephenson valve gear mesh. And I never, ever intend to again XD)

Yes! very much indeed.

Done the caboose. Just needs textures. Not sure what railroads though. Starfoxfan11 suggested B&O. What do you all think?

Tack så mycket.

I do have a lot of stuff sitting on my various drives, but getting to grips with all the new tags and such making up a config file is quite a task. Not impossible but still quite time consuming and with a new rewamped trainz just around the corner, I wonder if it really is worth the effort.

yojimbo: Everything that you have shown is amazing. GREAT work :Y:.
