Blender has become more and more enticing to me in recent months: The idea of being able to press a button, go to the bog, and come back 10 minutes later to find that my tanker suddenly has shadows has run around my mind long enough for me to download and install the program.... However I'm finding it even more backwards than I found GMAX when I first installed it, hence my first render is this laughing stock

Blender 3D: N00b to Pro did me wonders in that area. I started with no experience whatsoever, but now I think I can say I'm fairly good:

Off topic but that Bugatti reminds me of a visit to the Schlumpf motor museum at Mulhouse. They had a Veryon there and were trying to start it to take it away. All the VW and museum staff failed dismally to get it started and they had to leave it there!

current progress. Need to put the lining on the textures for the side tanks. A lot of wasted texture space on this loco, but since it is a private loco (A reskinned version may be released to the DLS with a performance warning ) I think this is OK

I'm still fiddling around with it. Probably a few months away. It will have a 'VR' version of the logo on the side tanks instead of my 'ZR' logo
I will also make up a builders plate for it

As to where, well the DLS seems as good a place as any
