GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Ah, interesting, Perchpole. I have something very similar in the pipeline:

Tommy -

They say great minds think alike!

The community has waited so long for one of these wagons that I'm sure there'll be plenty of room for two!

;)

Backyard -

I build all of my models in 3DS Max. I then export the entire object into Gmax and then export it again into TRS. The process is a right royal pain in the you-know-what! That said, I've done it so often that I'm used to it now.

A render of the Ivatt 2mt tank loco, I've just released.

Wow American Connections!
Thats awesome!
If you dont mind me asking, where did you get that awesome Cab at the head of that small road train?
Cheers,
Sean

Klinger, could you show me how to get Sketchup files into trainz? thanks

Mike

You will need the payware version of SketchUp to export .3Ds to GMAX and from there to Trainz.

But... as easy as SketchUp is to use I highly recommend you learn and use GMAX. It'll save you time, hair, and headache in the long run.

Cheers,
John

I know I will get flamed for this, but to be honest I ignore flames anymore

if your a route builder, and you need buildings, signs, and other static objects that have no speical features (sound, smoke, other effects) Sketchup can be helpful. there is an 800 Minute demo of the pro version that allows you to export. however the new version overwrites google sketchup, so unless you can hunt down an old version, your screwed

I spent months requesting an Island Station for my subway route, in the end, no one ever stepped forward, si using sketchup, i made exactly what i needed. I know all you "real" 3D modelers always try to say bad things to people that want to expermient with sketchup, but when i have to wait 5 months for something, and end up having to build it myself using a crappy 3D program just so it actually gets done, I will use whatever 3D program i frigging want, and you can lay off me for what my choice is

if you dont like it, dont download it, plain and simple

*claps hands furiosly* :)

Ever since I bought Sketchup, it's been like a godsend.

In this field it's not about what you use but more about what you create.

If sketch-up works for you, I say more power to your elbow! (which is a fine old English way saying, "Good for you, mate").

well your one of the only people to ever tell me that, usually when i post screens for sketchup, i get told what a crappy and useless program it is, and how it should never be used for trainz
