when i saw that i started humming the tune "this is the self preservation society, dum dum da dum dum, da dum da dum da dum da..." i think id love to see that on trainz in a red white and blue colour iv got a few disused tunnels on my kings cross route im buildings and be cool to see them speeding out of one :hehe:

10/10 mate great job

Hi, I have one problem. That exist my costium road
invalid%20road.JPG
. Haply emergent opening betwen road piece? Please help

:(That was also my problem. I was working on my LACMTA Expo Light Rail LRV in Gmax. But the problem was that my content was just too SMALL!!!!!

Check that one end of the mesh in GMax as at y=0 and the other end at -y (y being the length of the spline that you want, therefore the end must be at a certain distance from the origin in the -y direction). The distance from the origin in the -y direction MUST match up with the 'length' tag in the config.txt :)

Glad you like it. This may take a little time to finish as this is a lot more detailed then my usual efforts, thanks to Decapods latest utility (shape file fixer), that allows very high poly models to be used in MSTS.

Heres a render of the other side of the loco:-

wow, i havent played msts in forever. kevin you are releasing this wonderful train for trainz right? please tell me you are :D.

Yes, it will be for Trainz as well, but I find it easier to make the model for MSTS first, before doing the Trainz conversion.

Hello,

Sorry guys for interrupting, but I want to know how you make a good render in 3dsmax5, in 8 or 9 I know but since my model is in 5, I want to know how can I render it with shadows or reflexions.

Thank you,

Hmmm, shape file fixer eh? I'm guessing my 12k polys steamer will now work?

12K - not a problem any more ;)

Here's my latest (22K polys), just before it was completed for MSTS.
Built using 3D canvas pro, rendered in POVray.

There is already a class 19 for TRS, so I may not convert this one to Trainz

Razvan -

The procedure is exactly the same. The lights and materials in MAX5 are almost identical to those found in later versions.

Thank you decapod. Now to just re-do all them textures that I stuffed up on...
Or just resize em and see how MSTS copes... :P
Thanks decapod, I have been wanting this to make it to MSTS. Now this is possible :)

Hi decapod. --

"There is already a class 19 for TRS, so I may not convert this one to Trainz"

I'd prefer not to comment on the relative quality of the two locomotives, but I for one would sure welcome your 19 class in Trainz.
