Game won't install in Window 7 64BIT?

Could someone point me in the right direction on installing Trainz 2010 (from Just Flight download) on Win7 X64? I've run the installer and that has downloaded the content but when I click on the "Install" button the installer just disappears. I can't see anything in task manager to tell me its doing anything. The install has been done by admin. The game installed and ran fine on my old Win XP Pro X32 PC.

Hope some one can help, I have my 7year lad waiting!

PC spec:
Intel 9550, Nvidia 9800GT, 6gig ram, intel chipset M/B.

Cheers,
Rick.

Rick,

Run the installer with administrator rights.

Right-click on the setup.exe
Choose Run as Admin.

A box will come up...

Click OK to run as administrator.

The game should now install properly.

Thanks John but that is what I'm doing. I run the web installer as admin, this then checks the downloaded files and then allows you to click the install button. This is when the web installer just vanishes after you click install.
Rick.

There is no setup.exe on a disk somewhere?

I have found that it is much easier to install from the setup.exe than it is from a web installer.

Perhaps one of the UK folks can help you here since I don't have the JT version.

Sorry I couldn't help you more than this.

John

There is a known issue regarding that - due to the search facility not working properly, it's going to be difficult to find the answer.

Solution is to locate the folder where the web installer extracted the files to, then run the installation from there.

Shane

Yep, your right Shane, and thanks John for reminding me about the setup1.exe file! If you use the JF setup file you'll be asked for the activation code which it won't accept.
Thanks chaps, all running,
Rick.

Rick,

Awesome news! I'm glad you're up and running.

Welcome to the world of Trainz now and all that it entails. Your life will never be the same again. :D
