Galaxy Express 999-Looking for it!

Hello!

I've been searching for the GE999 for a while now, and while there are several videos on YT featuring it, there aren't any ways I can get it.

If someone can locate this amazing train (and maybe tell me how to install it, don't know how) then I will give you many, many, many thanks. I will be thanking you for the rest of my life.

I saw a blog that had it there, but the mediafire link was broken...

Again, if you find it I'll be thanking you for several months from 12:00 AM for 24 hours.

Which version are you looking for? The film version (and it's sequel) are available on DVD - the third film wasn't licensed and so it's not available in English.

The whole lot itself is 113 episodes long and I haven't yet found it available on DVD's. Crunchyroll has it available for steaming online (free). You can 'buy' it by episode/series from amazon instead video.

As a note, I would highly suggest the spin off 'Galaxy Railways' which has a single season available on DVD via a "S.A.V.E box set" (seen on amazon and in various shops). The second season wasn't licensed but has been fansubbed and available from the a couple fansubbing sites (PM me if you want details).

Not sure which is the train yet as I haven't seen enough of it but the 'main' train in Galaxy railways is called 'Big One' and is based on the Union Pacific 'Big Boy' which is in Trainz 12 (not sure about other versions).

Been thinking how I could do the Galaxy railways 'launch' on Surveyor - not sure how yet but I'm learning it at the moment.

trainz20009, to install bigone's whistle u do the following
1) clone the UP bigboy
2)edit the clone in explorer
3)in the config, find a tag at the left side of the page that says"hornsound"
4)change the kuid right beside it to big one's
5)save and commit

I'm pretty sure the Japanese locomotive that the 999 is based on (it's not based on the US UP 'Big Boy') can be found in a link in this thread in the Screenshots section: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=3916 (I'd search through it myself but it's 48 pages long and I don't have the time to do it at the moment ).

Otherwise, do a search for Japanese steam locomotives on the DLS, as I'm pretty sure the original prototype loco is available there.

I believe you're looking for a JNR C62.

I'm helping him with a problem he's been havin', i have no idea were the galaxy express loco is,(i'm a fan of Galaxy Railways).BigOne (from galaxy railways) is based off the UP bigboy,also when i download the JNR D51 i get this Error: Failed to install asset <kuid:281106:1151200>,also the site their found on also has coaches like the ones from the show

When you look up images of Galaxy Express 999, you get a train that looks to be hauled by a C62.
GE999 is definitely not hauled by Big One there.
Either way, the coaches are built to 42 inch narrow gauge, while the Big Boy is standard gauge.
If it is Big One that you're after, then you'd have to either re-gauge the coaches or find replacements.

I have seen Big One in the anime, but I don't think that's what he's looking for.
I could be wrong though.

he had asked me a while back to help him install the whistle of bigone to the UP big boy which it's based apon(galaxy express 999 and big one r from two different shows).

Thanks for finding the C62 for me. Unfortunetly, i can't find it on the page the the catalouge you gave me the link for gave another link for the train's site. I can't seem to locate it right now, I can't read Japanese. However, if you can locate the download link for the actual train somewhere i will be very happy.

EDIT: I have located it! Now to find the coaches of the train...hmm...this could be a challenge...

Well, bad news. I got it, but it doesn't work at all. It's there, but it wont show up, not even the tender. I know it works for 2006, but i must ask, is there any way to get it to work in 2009 without using Compatibility Mode? (last time i used Comp.Mode it didnt work at all)

yes there's 2 ways to make it work, 1 reinstall TRS intell it works 2. fix any errors. But it sounds like you have a few missing KUIDs if so you have a yellow box beside it in CMP.

Okay, there are TWO files of the train that have errors. One has a missing dependency, the other is just plain faulty.

JNR C62 01 B is missing dependencies
JNR C62 01 B Tender is faulty

I can't redownload TrainzSimulator 2009 because it would take forever (I downloaded it from Gamestop Impulse. Legal in all ways)

that's for problem right there TRS wont let you use failty Assts. now if you can find the missing kuid you have to contact the author for them.

One of the assets on the C62 and D51 is an enginesound used on bdaneal's locos. That might be what's missing.
It'd help if you could post the kuid.

Actually, you were supposed to do the JNR C62 but the website was going to JNR D51 which is really odd. Huh. Also, I LOVE Galaxy Railways. I only found 4 episodes on youtube. The other website I watch anime doesn't load(It takes about an hour to load it half way) in time and is really annoying.
