From Trainz Plus Standard to Trainz Plus Gold?

Hello!
May be a stupid question but is it possible to buy Trainz Plus Standard and - after some time - upgrade it to Trainz Plus Gold with all the achieved results in the Standard edition (tutorials, building tracks a.s.o.) being available within the Gold edition again? If so, how to do this?
I would like to know this, because I am an inexperienced user liking to discover the game without spending immediately a lot of money but when liking it not to start all over again when buying the Gold edition.

I think you can upgrade like that and pay a prorated balance for the year. I would contact the Help Desk to find out though and not take my word for it.

You can't buy Trainz Plus, only lease it by subscription (monthly or annually).
Trainz Plus gold is the same install as the Trainz Plus standard. It is the type of subscription that opens the newer features in gold, if you cancel the subscription Plus is no longer playable in either version.
Get a monthly standard subscription first then get a monthly gold subscription. Make sure you don't select recurring unless you are happy with it.

As they are saying, it is a subscription, not a one-time purchase. Upgrading to gold will get you access to all content for free and a full-time FCT for downloading. Everything you alraed have or have built will remain the same. If you then drop back to standard or stand-alone, you will lose all the extra DLC except what comes with the lower version except for DLC you have purchased separately, which you will keep.

Trainz Plus Standard only comes with KickStarter County TRS22 in the basic install. But you can download any DLC you own from other Trainz versions if they are compatible from the Trainz Content Store. You also get access to some other DLC items even without a Gold subscription. For example, I got a few locomotives and a couple of routes listed as purchased in my Content Store that I didn't buy. Of course, they only work while my subscription is active.

Thank you all very much for your replies. Sorry, I am 74 years old and may sometimes not understand all. As far as I do understand now is that I can "lease" Trainz Plus, use it for some time and then (when I like it) upgrade it to Train Plus Gold without loosing my achieved results (building tracks and my advances in tutorials).
One last question, please, when I upgrade I guess I have to buy the Gold version in the normal way as I bought before the Plus Standard. Will during this process somehow / somewhere will "pop up" the possibility that I would like to upgrade? Or do I just have to do the whole process as if I did not have the Plus Standard installed at all?
And does this upgrade charges me with the full price for the Gold version OR will it offer me some discount? Or even worse that I have to pay BOTH versions now?
Sorry for this, but as I am not so young any more I would like to avoid to work months on my Plus Standard, enjoy it and loosing all when upgrading to Plus Gold.

You won't lose anything you have created. You may have to install again but that install can point to your current data and nothing will be lost.

Go to MyTrainz at the top of this page and click on my memberships. You will see what membership you have and when it expires. After you buy your first monthly subscription you can select change memberships and choose the gold membership which should start on the expiry date of your old one. You don't need to install again unless you cancel altogether.
