For those experiencing issues with downloading using TDH/CM after the server transfer

Hi BNSF1995

I have removed your post again, as again your posts are inappropriate.

However, in regards to the DLS, we are not intentionally blocking TRS2006's access to the DLS. We have been experiencing some issues with DLS access for TRS2006. However this should now be solved.

There may be some issues with the non FCT access, and this will be reported to the admin when he gets in today.

We do hank you for your patience.

Hi there.

Alots of users have had there DLS issues fixed but i still remain with the same problem where the download helper on the dls does not work for me. Im running trainz 2010 windows 7 pro 64bit. I tryed both firefox 3.6 and Internet explorer but both do nothing in opening cmp up. This is the Error that firefox comes up with "Firefox Dosnt know how to open this address, Because the protocol (Trainz) Isnt associated with any programme" now in terms of internet explorer it just opens a new tab with this address trainz://install/

I tryed nearly everything to correct this problem Maybe im missing something here that could be a windows 7 related issue and i have to do something in settings or such.

Any help would be greatful as i havnt been able to use the DLS Since i upgraded to windows 7 pro 64bit

I am running Trainz 2009 World Builder Edition (Purchased through Steam) on Windows XP 32-bit, and after performing the remedies detailed in this thread, I'm still unable to download through the DLS. Downloading results in an "Unknown Content Error," and the download speed in the DLS window is listed as 0.00 Bps.

Would help if i could even get as far as downloading the file via cmp! lol I await aurans reply

Hi Karl2002

From your post, I take it that you are using the DLS website to browse the DLS?

Can you please tell me what build your install of Trainz is? The build number is found on the bottom right corner of the main menu screen.

Please try opening Content Manager, and then clicking on the tab marked 'Download Station'. Now select an item to download, right click on it, then click on 'download'. This will add it to the Download Helper window on the left. Once it has finished searching for it, and it's dependencies, click on start.

It appears that you are not using a FCT. Unfortunately, we have received a number of reports that the non FCT server is not able to be connected to properly. I will be reporting this to the admin when he gets in.

Thank you

Same problem here for months.

I'm running 2009 with win7 and before that with last latest and greatest
and My cmp will not download anything.
I have to use ftp and save the cdp's to the dektop and then load into trainz.
I have tried all the suggestions and they did not cure a thing.
My first class ticket has expired and I will not renew if this problem is not cured. I never had any problems with ALL other editions of trainz so I know it's not my internet connection or settings.:hehe:

I have the same issues as you and i'm in the exact same situation. Except for the firefox issue. I had the same thing the other day but it randomly fixed itself.

content downloading problems

I am running Trainz 2009 World Builder Edition on Windows XP 32-bit, and after performing the remedies detailed in this thread, I'm still unable to download through the DLS. Downloading results in an "Unknown Content Error," and the download speed in the DLS window is listed as 0.00 Bps.

Zec Murphy closed down my original thread and prompted me to go here, Is anyone else having the same problem as me. I have changed nothing, why can't things just work. I have been a loyal follower since the very 1st public release of Trianz railroad simulator.

I'm getting the exact same thing as you are, TS2009 & 32-bit Win XP as well, so it's certainly not a specific issue. Attempting to download from the DLS by ftp just causes a new tab to open up with a blank page (this usually appear only for a second while the files are transferred to download, then closes once I have the chance to choose where to save it and begin the download).

This is just me speculating, but perhaps it's an issue with how the file servers are fetching the files for pending downloads? It appears to work fine right up until the point the files are actually requested by the file server.

thanks mate, appreciate your feedback, hopefully this will be fixed, I have had to reload trainz and still no luck, auran better fix this problem, i'm sure if they don't they will lose customers. Your fetching theory sounds interesting maybe you are on to something there

No, I am not using a FCT. If there's anything I can do to help, I'm more than willing to take screen shots and so forth.

Hi All
I've reported the issue to the admin, who is currently working on fixing it.

We should have this sorted soon.

Reading some of the post here and that Auran are trying to work out what and why things are happening. Zec has mentioned a few times that the current problems now appear to be with people who do not have a FCT. Yet I see no one mention if they have one.

Maybe it would help Zec or save him time if people mention if they have a FCT ticket or not in their post.

Hope everyone gets the problems fixed soon,

Craig
