Floating Splines

I'm not sure if anyone else experiences this as there doesn't appear to be a thread about it, but I've noticed that some splines 'float' rather than set on the ground with the HD terrain active. Initially I thought it was just in areas where the ground was uneven but today I encountered it on level ground. Is it a known issue?

Cheers,

This used to be a problem with all splines pre TANE, they would set about 0.2m above ground level. Looks like someone removed or changed part of the code that fixed this.

Reset the height of the spline so that the spline circles turn white. This will plant them down on the terrain. In some places, you may have to lock and tweak the splines afterwards, but overall, this method works well for me. Don't do this to bridges!

The issue as Vern says, the issue goes back years ago. Way back in the old Auran days when splines were created, someone put in the 0.2 meter offest that caused spline to float above the surface. In T:ANE SP4 or early TRS19, this was finally fixed after nearly 15 years of Trainz. The problem is many assets were based on the 0.2 m offset causing many to ride above the surface.

In surveyor 2.0 double click to highlight the spline and pick settle on ground. In classic surveyor the default circle color is white and the spline will hug the ground once you adjust the height of a spline circle they will turn yellow. Then you have to smooth the ground underneath. How the model was build in the modeling program will determine how high off the ground it will appear in the game. I believe there is a tag for setting the height in the config file which may help adjust this.

Thanks for the replies. The splines in question were all displaying properly in earlier versions of Trainz and TRS22. It has only become an issue since I installed the latest update on HD terrain. On flat ground, the splines site on the ground as expected. It's only on slopes were the spline floats so I'm minded to think it's something to do with HD.
