Finding Manuals

Old Fart
Is there any place on this forum where I can obtain all of the various manuals which apparently exist although I can’t find them. I downloaded my copy of Trainz2010 from Amazon.com a few weeks ago. The Extras\Documentation folder contains the TS2010EE_Manual_ES.pdf file which I have printed but it does not give details on many things. This same folder also contains a sub-folder titled Russian Manuals. In it are the following: AssetCreationGuide_RU.pdf; ContentManager_RU.pdf; FAQ_RU.pdf; RepaintingGuide_RU.pdf; SignallingRefference_RU.pdf; Surveyor_Guide_RU.pdf; and TechnicalManual_RU.pdf. Every one of these looks like it would be useful but I can’t read Russian! Are the English versions of these manuals available for download somewhere? I’ve searched the DLS with no luck. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Bill

Trainz Resources Directory

Mike,
I have been investigating this directory for about a week now. While it has some useful things, and some of the tutorials are useful, the actual manuals don't seem to be there.

HI BillDinAZ, My introduction into Trainz was also through 2010 and had the same problems you are having. Other that the manual that comes with it, there is nothing else and that manual is woefully inadequate and defficient for beginners. It assumes a lot of prior knowledge about trainz and even when you go to the help screens they have nothing in them. If you read the posts you will see that most of the expertise is provided by people who have been at it for years and grown with the versions. I found that the help files are nop existent in 2010 but if you are able to get a copy of the 2006 manual, its far more instructive. I bought 2006 especially for the manual but am not interested in installing it. Its now old, the program has moved on and there are now a few things out of date in that manual. Surveyor is still OK. There is a UK site which is very good with help. Trains classic I think it is. Initally the non existence of help files annoyed me greatly with the manual nothing more than a joke as far as a new peson is concerned but gradually I got to realise what the program was compared to other sims especially for the price, and lowered my expectations. Its cost is not great relative to other sims, and I have learnt that the greatest help is through this forum.
There are many fine people all over the world who contribute to this forum, only too willing to assist you and others, and at least you can ask them questions, not like a help file. Cheers
