I'm rather worried about what the engineers on the standard gauge Cambrian line will have to say about that Duchess, it's well above the route's axle load limit...

Ah, so that is what that fragment of standard gauge line is, I was wondering. What about the segment by Blaenau, the same?

Blaenau? well there are Steam specials on occasions to Blaenau on the Conwy Valley line think it may well have a weight restriction! Plus other slight problems such as a 1 in 47 climb. Interesting reading from a while back now http://www.penmorfa.com/Conwy/steam1.html

There was a special hauled by an LNER K4 the Great Marquis in August 2013 when I was up there.

It's an ex-LNER K4, not LMS. Sorry...
Anyway, the section of SG line at the Porthmadog end is part of the Cambrian line. Nowadays, most of the trains consist of class 150 and 158 DMUs, but in steam days before the FR they would have been a variety of GWR locomotives and rolling stock used, including 45xx Prairies, 57xx 'Panniers', 'Manor' Class 4-6-0s and probably some ex-Cambrian Railways 0-6-0 light goods engines. There is a definite weight limit on the Cambrian line- indeed one of the reasons the Manor class was developed was that the earlier 'Grange' Class 4-6-0s were too heavy for certain lines, including the Cambrian. No chance of getting a Duchess down there I'm afraid.

Too late at night Lol of course it is! LNER - post amended.

Dwyryd Bridge would not have helped with weight restrictions. It's a combined rail road bridge and was an extremely dodgy looking structure, I wasn't too keen on driving over it in a car! Can't imagine it would support a Duchess! Just been replaced this year with a more substantial bridge as the original was sinking into the mud.

Not on the WHR (although the WHHR does an ex-WD Baldwin like the one that used to run on the line) but there are several American locomotives at the Brecon Mountain Railway in South Wales, which also has a very ambitious project to recreate several of the locomotives of the long-closed SRRL system in Maine to run on it's recently extended line. Wales is a bit of a hotspot for U.S motive power- the Steel Company of Wales used to operate full-US spec Alco S1s!

Ermm you forgot Mountaineer WW1 Alco in storage on the FR Boiler ticket expired a while back
and Moelwyn WW1 Petrol (Now Diesel) Loco part of the heritage fleet which is working, both are somewhat modified!

And while on the subject The Lynton and Barnstaple are doing a new build Baldwin replica of Lyn which will be more than likely be run in and tested on the WHR according to my sources.

I know what you mean Nathan, I too miss the days the Maine 2 footers used to be quite popular back In the 04 and 06 era, too bad I don't have the time nor patience to create content or I could had started making some like the B&S 2-4-4 #7 & #8 but anyway back on topic, what are the current engines running on the 2 NG railways in Wales?

I forgot Mountaineer! I think it's a fair way down the overhaul queue though, isn't it? As for all the current locomotives running on 2ft gauge railways in Wales, such a list would be extremely long!

this is a link to the Festipedia website for the Festiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland Railwayit has the list of all locomotive's and rolling stock that are have been or are currently on the railway its quite a good read
https://www.festipedia.org.uk/wiki/A_User_Friendly_Index

as for the oldest thing running probably one of the England Engines either Prince or Palmerston i think

Re steam specials on the Conwy Valley: Only an 8F or K4 stand a chance of getting up the gradients, even on shortish trains. Having said that all of this year's trains stalled on the bank and failed to reach Blaenau.

Just to add my thanks for this truly outstanding route- the best one I've ever downloaded. The attention to detail is amazing and I'm getting acceptable performance in T:ANE build 80201. I had to pull three files from TS12 that weren't on the DLS. The only other issue I have is with five ground textures that are listed as 'Installed, Payware (not active)', so I've got some large un-textured patches in places. The textures are A39, Al pochva 39, grass 05, grass 13 and grass 25. These textures are all built-in in TS12 so why they now need to be vigorously protected as 'payware' is a mystery to me. I guess that'll teach me for being a cheapskate and just buying the standard edition...

@R3
I have the deluxe edition and around 160 assets flagged as 'Installed, Payware (not active) :)

@clam1952
Thank you very much for the beautiful map.

A39 you can swap for A39_v2 which is on the DLS
Grass 25 again two versions both Payware? kuid:9999:921589 is deluxe payware however the other identical one kuid:149987:21589 is used in ECML so you could swap to that.
Grass 5 again two identical ones replace kuid:9999:921555 Deluxe Payware with kuid:149987:21555 On DLS
Al pochva 39, looking at it I distinctly remember getting rid of that one must be a bit left somewhere I seem to remember it was one I was trying out on the edge of the map somewhere, to be safe just replace it with Al pochva 18 same sort of colour.

Those duplicates were all duplicated in TS12 as well, wonder who cloned who's texture..........

Anyway I'm in the process of sorting out a T:ANE version complete with SpeedTrees so I've replaced the missing ones, of course TANE seems 78660 to be incapable of noticing they have been swapped and they are still listed as dependencies! Nothing ever simple. May have to submit another bug report!
As this is actually the Screenshot forum I'm including a Screenshot of my SpeedTree converting.
