Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland WIP

Better put up a few more screenshots as I don't appear to have done any for some time.

Beddgelert on the WHR with an NWNGR train: Historical anachronism, or future dream?

More seriously, the route is looking brilliant!

Amazing a lot of hard and painstaking work must have gone into that, i even notice things you have added that i saw from the footplate while firing. I take it your waiting till mark to see how close the new Harbour station international is to the plans.
thanks
Patrick

@Patrick, waiting to March now seems to be the best plan, that's why I added the Bypass, may as well go for the latest, signals look like they may be a bit outside my capability at present. Handy having the plans though as it will make altering Port relatively easy. Looks like they are sticking pretty close to the plans from the current batch of photo's.

@edh6 wishful thinking, it could I suppose happen one day. Track looks to new for historical, may need to knock up some more suitable track for pre preservation.

Couple more bits I've been improving.

A quick question: How did you repair all of the content marked faulty? I'm seeing quite a few cars and locomotives that are normally faulty.

I'm asking because I'm seriously considering getting TS12 just for this route.

Initially for 2010 just fixed all the errors and warnings, then I had to sort them all out again for TS12, then SP1 came along so I'm half way through checking them all and sorting them all out where necessary again. Eventually they should all end up on Trainzone as I've been updating them for Kevin. If it wasn't for SP1 moving the goal posts again they would have been there by now! Hopefully they should be ok from build 2.9 upwards.

Just a thought Malc, have you considered using layers to represent the cob as it was/as it will be? I've used multiple layers on the route I'm working on at present in conjunction with the hide layers driver command to produce a route that can potentially cover many eras.

Quick Question

Just a quick question- Is the route going to have Passenger Enabled stations?
I'm asking because many of the coaches available for the F&WHR are passenger enabled, but on your screenshots I can't see any people on the platforms.
Thanks, Tim

Actually I have but the cob changes might require the terrain to be altered which as far as I know only works on the route layer. The actual plan was to have both versions before and after.

Did have on flat stations but temporarily removed due to the fact they didn't work properly, also an issue with the fact that some stations are on gradients, Beddgelert is on a 1 in 40 for example, can't have people in the air at one end and buried at the other if you follow and then there is the platform width problem, invisible stations are too wide. FR and WHR has narrow platforms.
I will be looking at these problems when everything else is finished.

hey, by the looks of the screenshots your attention to detail is pretty amazing, you clearly have a very good knowledge of the railway. i was just wondering if you visit there often, or if you do work there? i myself have been visiting for years as my mum grew up there. i was also wondering when the route will be available for download as id love to see more of it:) great work, thanks

@lambert1995
I'm getting there, honest still got a few specific buildings to do plus a load of stuff to add Lod to.

@coutsse6
Solved the passengers and platforms on gradients issue.

@ ReginaldBroson
Mostly visits and am member of the Ffestiniog Railway Society originally back in the 60's let it lapse for a long time then took it up again a few years back when I retired. Explored a lot of the WHR on foot when I was a teenager and it was derelict.

@BNSF1995

Kevin Martin has allowed the repaired items to be put on the DLS so most of them should be there now, just got a few left to do.
