Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland WIP

Yes Kevin I was on the 1425 and apart from the screaming kid on the outgoing trip I enjoyed it.

Children can be a problem. We had a herd of uncontrolled screaming kids on our WHR train, for a while.

Just one more coincidence. The father of the guard on your train, was the chap who built the MSTS version of the Ffestiniog route.

I'm sure our paths have crossed Ben, without realising it.

A few more progress screenshots, I've added the Porthmadog Bypass as best I can and I've removed all the speed Trees and replaced with my own, added a lot more around the Beddgelert Campsite and done some weathering on my fences and crossings so they don't look brand new!

The area around Meillionen is looking great. Looks just like the real station and it's surrounding area.

Looking as good as ever, Malc.

What is the track you are using in the last few shots- I don't recognize it as one you have released on the DLS. Is there more track on the way?

Yes there is quite a bit actually.
That's the South African steel sleeper version haven't uploaded it, as I haven't done the lod for it yet, there are quite a few more bits of Track to come such as embankments, tramway set in concrete, tramway for laying on road surface, the Cob I made actually as combined track and cob spline, track with raised ballast, lot of that on the WHR, some on grass embankments, various Bridges a lot of trackside items such as sheep creeps, culverts various occupation crossings, bridge abutments, the list seems to get longer each day!

Didn't notice the missing culvert and fence at the Beddgelert end of the platform then, ;) I was actually camping about 20 Yards down from the station last time I was up there.

I obviously wasn't paying enough attention as I went through on the train a couple of weeks back! I did manage to spot all of the abandoned PBSSR formation, which I didn't really notice on my last trip. I hope you've included it as it take the direct/steep(er) route across the reverse curves above Beddglert.

Just a few bits and pieces I've been improving and adding.

Now has name ;)

And culvert, stream and fence!

Guess where? (note railings are temporary)

This one should give a clue.

Yes been working on Beddgelert, been putting it off for ages.

Changed fence and added a gate at Nantmor.

Station building now the right colour ( was using Nantmors) replaced speed demons with my own stuff.

That Bypass.........

Poly heavy I'm afraid, got carried away.

That weird house or my interpretation of it by Britannia Bridge with my favourite record shop in the background.

Any guesses?

Not hard to guess this one.

Got carried away again.

That bypass again

Another easy one to guess, horrible to get this area right even with a 5m grid.

Back up the other end.

Another awkward bit to get right 'ish.......

Malc, this is stunning. I complete agree with couttsse6, the small details do make all the difference. I've only ever travelled on this line once when I was a kid, and even though I don't remember much of it, I think this looks so realistic! Definitely going to be downloading this and the trains, and that wonderful Double Fairley!

Keep up the great work!

Jack

Well I've got photos of the slates on the signal box and it looks like they are sticking to the last published plan.........

Very nice route indeed. When I see a route or layout I always look for the atmosphere in the pictues. That's what you have manage to catch...

What I find difficult is to balance the use of details. It's like when you have a good meal and put spice on it to get the extra taste. I think your details are perfect and I always look forward for the next screenshots here.
