FEC Key West extension modern day

Seems I have not had time to attend to the screens from the video sessions! Here is a tapestry of area screens, three areas were not taped, probably due to a crunch in time and finished product. Enjoy anyway!

As for progress I'm working in Key Largo areas, from US1 MM 95 to MM 104.

Hello!

This is my first visit to the FEC route that you're working on.

Nikos1: Thanks for starting this project. I know how it goes building stuff, burnout does occur. But hopefully you'll find it in you to help finish the project you started.

BrickBuilder711: Thanks for picking up the project that Nikos1 started! That's very cool of you to do!

I'm not living in Florida. I live in Northern Michigan and it's been very cold. Checking out these screenshots warmed me up a bit. In fact I have a cousin who's staying several months down in Key West through the cold winter months. So this is pretty cool to see!

I look forward to driving the route. I wish I could offer my services, but I'm just starting building my own route; the GLC (Great Lakes Central). I'm going to give it a whirl and fiddle with the Surveyor and get the hang of things.

I'll check back in on this project to see how things are going and hopefully keep your morale up to bring this project to some a conclusion.

:)

Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Welcome to the Trainz Community!

The Keys are an excellent area, just wish the RR ran down today.

I look forward to the GLC. All I would ask is that you take your time.

I will always have the morale to finish the project, one way or another. Of course there will be times of motivation, and times where I wish to take a break.

Enjoy the community! I do have new screenshots to come!

The henceforth story is fiction;

Was heading down to the Keys. I came across traffic lights being upgraded

Meanwhile I headed down to Islamorada for stone crabs at Whale Harbor. No trains today but a new spot was found. Thought I'd snap a photo ;)

Very nice screenshots and thanks for the warm welcome!

Yah I'm going to take it slow and do it right, just like it looks like you and Nikos have done for my GLCRR.

I'll stop in often to check out your work.

:)

Cool..

Didn't FEC close the line down in the Keys? See I was in Duck Key (Hawks Kaye Resort) a long time ago and drove down to Key West for the day (Nice place btw:D ) and I saw the bridge (thanks for bringing back memories:) ) but no trains...hey its Trainz. Part of Trainz is about imagination.;)

Cheers and great route,
Cam

Cameron,

Yes. the FEC did close the KWE. If you read the very first post, the story is there. Thanks! :)

Nice Pinecrest Screenshots Brickbuilder!

I really also wanted to comment that I like your trackside scenes. Makes your route feel more realistic and certainly it gives something to look at while running the railroad.

I can't wait to check your work out whenever you're ready to release it.

Thanks and a piece of advice

great job!

Thanks! How do you like my traffic light mast arms? They look alright with boat's signals.

@KCSRailfan/ROCKHIT: My father's computer has been infected. If the malicious thing has access to my accounts, please disregard. My father may interminitely use my laptop tomorrow, so progress can be slower than a snail's pace.

To all; This may be a quick step away from the topic but right now this is my flagship thread. As aforementioned, one of the computers in my residence has been infected. If any unusual and crazed posts arise, I do apologize in advance. I did post a similar warning in the recent activity column on my YouTube Page.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that. Glad you had your route backed up to another PC.

The light masts look pretty cool! Very modern-looking. I like how the one intersection in an earlier pic is getting those installed. I've actually seen those newer type posts being installed on a major thoroughfare in a city near where I live.

I did test a session with newly enhanced ATLS configurations, but one intersection failed miserably.

A local just switched Home Depot and is returning with one car. It is seen in the Pinecrest area and at Pinecrest Siding

LOL... (steep grade of road)

brickbuilder711_20090206_0015.jpg

Additionally, I'm redoing the area by the Falls shopping center. The road zigzagged around according to TransDEM and I did already place buildings. I am redoing the area with the road going straight and the siding extended. In real life the road DOES NOT zigzag.

Nice pics again!

Those traffic signals came along nicely! Are they 100% complete? They look like it.

Yah no one likes to drive a zig-zaggy road, nice to be able to straighten those out.

:)

Thanks.

It took a lot less effort than I thought it would to straighen the road out. TransDEM always has those problems.

I am currently tackling areas between that and South Miami. Expect parking garage vantage shots soon! :)
