Exporting Locomotives to cdp - does it export dependencies as well?

Approach_Medium

Hi;
I have a couple dozen locomotives I purchased from Jointed Rail when I was running TS12. I have imported all of them to TANE SP2 (build 90955) but there were errors. I fixed the errors, and now I want to create a new set of .cdp files so I can re-install these locos without the errors when I need to.
If I select one of the locomotives in CM, then select Export to CDP, I am fairly sure that will not export the loco's dependencies, but want to make sure.
So I would then need to click 'List Dependencies' or 'List Dependencies Recursively', select all of them, then export to another .cdp file.

Of course many of these locos use the same dependencies, so I may need to sort through them so I don't wind up with duplicates (not that it would really be a problem, since importing content will ignore ones that are already installed).

Is there a better method of doing this?

Thanks for your help

No dependencies are exported.

You could select all the locos, then click list dependencies to bring up all dependencies for all the locos which would help sorting out which ones to save where (or just save them all together).

List the locos in CM. Select all (Ctrl+A) in the Asset KUID text strip and Copy (Ctrl+C). Now select all the locos, choose List dependencies or List dependencies recursively, click in the Asset KUID text strip, move to the end, add ',' and paste (Ctrl+V). You now have a list of the locos and all their dependencies.

Thanks for that info. I guess that way I won't have any dupes in the dependencies?
Should I just list dependencies, or do I need to list dependencies recursively?

Getting the dependencies will get the dependencies of dependencies, otherwise, things might be left out. I found this out the hard way like you have now.

You might want to freshly download your JR locomotives from their website along with any updates. That will ensure you have everything, and it might be easier that way too.

It depends on what you want to achieve, but for an archive that contains everything you should list dependencies recursively. Many people don't bother, as the dependencies of dependencies of locos are mostly built-in.
