Hello

Also run TrainzDaig, looks like it's something to do with video card specs or drivers.

Grapich driver updated, Directx updated, chipset driver updated, Bios upddated, TrinzUtil updated and TrainzDiag whith all tests passed several times, have even tryed with my old grapichcard in the new PC.

The problem is stil there - After aprox 30 to 45 min of playing i get an exception and the game shuts down.

I'm not a computer whiz in the slightest. I have as much knowledge in the realm of fixing computer problems as a man from the 1800s would. However, I do have one suggestion: Does it ask you if you want to send an error report? If so, it wouldn't hurt to send one. The worst that can happen is they don't respond.

You are not the only one getting these "recoverable exeptions" (You can't recover anything and have restart the game). See if this happens in the routes that came with the game. If not, you have faulty asset somewhere in the routes you have created. I see that you have 4 gig of RAM. Take two sticks of RAM and leave 2 gigs. XP does not recognize more than 2 so you arer wasting resources (and money). Make sure you install the 2 sticks in the proper sockets so you have a dual channel. I had this problem and I thought that after 20 minutes running, the RAM was filled or could not refresh and would block things (unsubstanciated). After running with 2 gigs, and eliminating some faulty assets, I have never gotten this problem again. Let us Know how you do. And is interesting that after many complains on this over several years, Auran has never indicated why and or what to do about it. Maybe now...?

Sorry to say that you are wrong, but XP 32-bit can support up to 3.2GB.

Hello

Have you tried both OpenGL and DirectX?

Have you by any chance have SP3 installed for Windows XP?

True it can support 3.2Gb (or at least it is shown in the system window), but when I had it I could not see a diference whatsoever in TRS. A lot has been writen on the subject, here and there. Anyhow, the thread is for the errors, and this could be from a faulty asset. Problem is which?

just a couple of sugestions...

If the ram is matching peers, eg; 2x2gigs (or 4x1gigs) from the same manufacturer, my sugestion is leave the 4 gigs in your machine. (I've experimented with both 2 & 4 gigs of ram in my system running Trainz).
Mind seems to work better with 4gigs, rather than 2gigs.
When running large detailed routes on my system, my systems often uses between 1.75 to 1.9 gigs of memory. That's not including the memory that required by "the system/os". (Running TRS2006 on XP Pro).
If this problem is occuring while you are running a large detailed route, try running a smaller, less detailed route and see if the problem still occurs.
Also try switching your Trainz screen resolution down to the mimimun, 800 x 600 and see if the problem still occurs. (I used to occasionally get the same error message when trying to run large detailed routes in 1680 x 1050 mode, with all the setting's maxed out).
You could also try moving the "detail" & "draw" setting over towards the left hand side on the 'setting slider' and see if that makes any difference on that route.
If none of these fix the problem, you may have a faulty asset/s in that route.

From MS site;
Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003 Memory Support. The maximum amount of memory that can be supported on Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003 is 4 GB.
Operating systems based on Microsoft Windows NT technologies have always provided applications with a flat 32-bit virtual address space that describes 4 gigabytes (GB) of virtual memory. The address space is usually split so that 2 GB of address space is directly accessible to the application and the other 2 GB is only accessible to the Windows executive software.

llebrez, my appoligies for disagreeing with you on the ram issue. (2 gigs vs 4 gigs). No cirticism intended.
Cheers, Mac...

Problem solved.

I ran a couple of test on the RAM installed on the PC, it keept reporting errors.

The RAM was set to auto (Mhz) in the BIOS, i have changed it to the speed specified by the manufacture, after changing the speed testing of the RAM stopped reporting errors.

Have played the game a couple of times with no chrashes.

Thanx for all your replies and support.
