Escanaba and Lake Superior in the North Woods

A little while later we heard that they needed another helicopter, so they called in the Theda Star out of Neenah for some assistance

One I took a while back when the ELS leased these 2 locos from the Lake Superior Railroad Museum

And a real shot of them 2 locos heading to the ELS on WC train STGB with the Soo 700 and the Erie F9 4211 at Neenah

An extra ELS train consisting of nothing but empty log cars that came out of storage, heads north out of Green Bay

Arriving from Wausaukee, we see the ELS 600 and EMC 4211 make a stop here at Pembine where it will take these empties and put them in the siding to be loaded

A surprise came down today from Crivitz.....The lone ELS 400 as it sports off the Great Northern Paint against the snow

ELS 1201 is seen here in the Machickanee forest as it makes its way east for Stiles Jct where it will drop these cars off in the siding and run back light to Oconto Falls

ELS 500 and 402 hustle a train of empty log cars near Smith Creek Rd....This train will tie up in Pembine

ELS 500 and 400 head east for Marinette to make its daily run for the day

Few guys enjoying the nice weather we have today

The 500 and 400 makes its way thru Bagley Jct

The power will cut away from its cars here at the Jackson Street yard and head light to the depot in town

Stopping here at the depot for lunch before going back to work and head up the line to work the mills on the north end of town

Time for an update on this route....Got more tracks and stuff laid around the Howard area where the line runs down to 2 industries for the ELS, the NPS Plant and WBS, WBS gets loads of lumber and NPS gets loads of plastic pellets

The ELS came to town today and had 2 loads of lumber for WBS, here we see him crossing Glendale Ave in Howard

Making the shove into the lumber yard at WBS

Running back light to Lineville Road to get the rest of their northbound train. The condutor will have about six crossings to flag between here and Lineville.

This post goes out to my brother who is a fire fighter at this fire station in the real town of Howard, which is located near Green Bay Wis.

And to show ya how bad the tracks really do look on this branch line...Here is a real shot of it from a friend

Heading to Bond St.

SD40-2's 1344 and 501 approach the Woodale Lane crossing. All of the road crossings south of Lineville on the old main line are exempt and have to be flagged. The end of line at Bond St. is about 2+ miles from this location. Train is shoving south, away from the camera.

Ground shot of this area....The pic taken with the train was shot from the bridge in the bottom pic

I have serious respect for that railroad and you for modeling it.

Yeah, it is one very unique RR....Its holding on by a thread for staying alive out there in the real world.....But on my RR, it will always be around and booming with business :)

Here is an oldie but a goodie of an DMIR Ore train heading east after making its required stop here at Pembine and headed for the Ore docks in Escanaba...
