Now, after playing the beta pf Trainz 2009, it comes up with fatal errors resulting in no function in game, like wont escape or wont enter a driver challenge all of that kind of stuff. It says:The Trainz Asset Database has been damaged and needs to be repaired. To repair the Database, exit Trainz and start the Content Manager, the process will start automatically. Click to exit Trainz Now.

Thats what it says.So what should i do?

And when the "Automatic " rebuild starts , it took 20-30 minutes to complete using high-speed cable .
TS09 does have a bar that shows progress ( a great improvement on CMP ),
however , it still gives the appearance every so often that it is frozen .
BE PATIENT !

what do you mean, one dam mouse click and it freezes solid.
just like the bad old days of TRS2006.:'(

And just how long did you actually leave it for? It takes a LONG time to do a full rebuild.

One suggestion to check. Go into the TS2009 folder, and tell me if there is a file in there called 'assets.tdx'. If it's not there, then CMP needs to do a FULL database rebuild. This will take a long time. Half an hour here for just the built-in content.

Maybe this explain something...

Beta: public test
'Betaware' is a nickname for software which has passed the alpha testing stage of development and has been released to a limited number of users for software testing before its official release. Beta testing allows the software to undergo usability testing with users who provide feedback, so that any malfunctions these users find in the software can be reported to the developers and fixed. Beta software can be unstable and could cause crashes or data loss.

start the Content Manager, the process will start automatically ... then WAIT

  Try doing it with the local folder at 5.5gig    :hehe:

Cheers David (who fired up content manager, went out and had a coffee, came home and fired up Skype, had a chat for a couple of hours, then toddled off to bed and left content manager to continue doing its thing in peace)
