DS ordeal

I'm using DS from 2006, because I wasn't given my 2009 serial yet (hopefully tomorrow), but I suppose is the same with 2009. Download speed starts fine, like 32 kbps or 52 kbps or 132 kbps and a few minutes after it is ZERO. Is like a theorema: "whatever speed you start DS, it will eventualy tend to zero". Why? Can someone explaine me in plain simple words? Is it a problem in the server, or too many people downloading? I checked with my dsl company, with my server company, cleaned cookies, cleaned temp files, cleaned register. It's already 3 days I activated a new 90 days FCT, so I would be already in full downloading rights. It's crazy! Ten minutes ago I was downloading at 125Kbps and now it's stopped, zero!
DS is the best Trainz's asset. I have Rail Simulator with all ist's graphics and charm but how can one be happy if there is no DS in Rail Simulator. There is nothing like Trainz's flexibility, map, ease of building and above all DOWNLOAD STATION with tens of thousands of items, enough for a lifetime! 2009 is great, gave us supperb graphics better resources better Content Manager but what is all that if DS acts like a casino!?

what i do is stop the d/l then start it up, but there might be a lot id users on the server or the internet will burp,,,,, stopping everything,,, but hang i n there

Stop and start again the download isn't solluction at all, it's no more than a trick. If there is too much people downloading means the server is underdimensioned, and now with 2009 the problem will be even bigger. Then what worth to have FCT? As it is, the whole thing isn't working, and it's too bad because with 2009 those guys in Auran gave us an outstanding product, and with this DS problem all their effort could be in vain...

Are you sure your FCT has been activated, it can take a little while as it needs human activity to switch it on in Australia? FCT should overcome the problem of too many users online, which you do get without FCT.

We are also working on moving the download station to a new server with more throughput, we realize that the DS is stressed at the moment with so many people downloading items, however we do not want to push this out in haste as this could lead to even more problems.

So it is coming we just ask you to be patient.
