Downloading Locomotives from Web

I know I have done this before, but I can't seem to remember how. How do I download a locomotive from Ben Neal's "Subpar Productions" into my download folder? If I click on the locomotive, I simply get a nice picture of the locomotive. If I click on the name, I get a page of programming language. There appears to be no download button to download anything. I'm using a Trainz Mac version. Appreciate any suggestions. I know that once I get the file into Content Manager, I can install it. Thanks.

Try right-clicking (control-clicking) on the link and use the Save As... option (or equivalent).

Last time I looked you can't right click with a Macintosh, the mouse only has one button. When I click on the underlined name I got the save file as window, if you're getting something else it's probably your browser settings.

You can set the mouse to either 'monoclick', as I call it, or have left and right click on a Mac, it's in the settings for the mouse. That's for an external mouse anyway, not sure about a laptop as I've never used a Mac laptop.

Sounds actually like the same problem that some get on TPR, if there isn't a right click it's probably Macs equivalent of from the file menu, Save as or save page as, thats on the page you get after clicking the link, should default to cdp.

Assuming that I went to the same website, you need to mouse over the name of the file and click to download the CDP file.

Thanks everyone. That was the problem. I had to right click to save the program so I could import it. Of course, on a Mac, right clicking isn't that obvious. I must have figured that out the first time I downloaded locos from Ben's site. To right click on a Mac, you have to hold the control key down. As usual, (I wish someone would fix these on a lot of Ben's locos) the invisible bogie b2 dependency was faulty, so I have to figure out how to get around that. Thanks again for the help. For old-timer model railroaders like me, you might remember Bob Hayden's Carrabasset & Dead River Narrow Gauge RR. I decided just for kicks to try a Trainz version of it. (Feb. 1980 Model Railroader) No crawling around under the layout.

Gentle Souls:

When downloading CPD files on the Mac I found that FireFox was a better browser to use. The code described in the first post sounded like Safari (Mac's Default Browser) trying to display the CDP file as web content i.e. as if an HTML file. Firefox will prompt to save a file ie as if an FTP-like mode.

The CDP file can then be imported into Trainz Mac. I usually save a copy of the CDP file elsewhere as part of my workflow.
