Unknown Assets from items from the Switchback

Hi there,

I am unexperienced with unknown assets and kuids and need a little advice.

There's a lot of great stuff on The Switchback but most of the things I try to download have an unknown asset. The website has a list of the kuids but I dont know what to do with that because they're not download links.

Since a lot of these are reskins from JointedRail/RRmods do I need to purchase the locomotives in order to get the reskins to work?

I don't have anything from Switchback but a few things you could try

1. Send a message to Switchback listing the missing <kuid> codes (you can copy them from Content Manager and paste them into your message). They must have a link somewhere on their website.
2. Search the thread missing-kuids-post-them-here in these forums for the missing assets but there are well over 200 pages of messages there and searching the forums to get anything useful is an art form.
3. Post the <kuid>s here and maybe (no guarantees) some one may know.

Possibly. But I don't use anything from third party sites.

They do also provide a link to dependencies and also list where to get them in most instances. You don't have to purchase anything from Jointed Rail. To download anything from Jointed Rail, however, you need to create an account. There's a free downloads section which has free locomotives and other recommended assets, and there are dependencies downloads for such things as locomotive interiors, engine specs and sounds.
