Downloading Content and Updates

How do you go about downloading content? I downloaded a route but how do I implement it so I can use it in routes etc ? Second, when I open trainz it shows in the I have close to 600 content updates, do most people update everything? And is there a way to update them all at once or do you have to do it one at a time?

thanks!

Assuming you're using TS2010, use content manager (CM3.3) to find the route that you want, select it to download. After it's done commit it if you don't have automatic commit selected. Then use CM3.3 to check it for errors or missing dependencies. Clear them before you try to use it in native mode. Else you could try compatable mode.

But is there a way to download in-game Content Updates all at once? I just did 290 one at a time. Pain in the keister!!

Using CM select the search feature out of date, using the + sign add another search, location - local. Apply.
R/click and select all, r/click view asset versions, next screen use view in main list, r/click again and select all then drag the lot into the download side.
The downside of this is that you get all updates not just the ones for assets you have installed.

:D This method worked for me. It takes far less time than entering them one at a time in-game. Virtually all of the updates were for 2010, so there were very few extras. Thanks!
