Downloaded Assets not displaying properly

I have just purchased a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit opsys. All built-in assets display properly BUT anything downloaded displays in a pixelated state and is therefore unusable. On my old computer (Windows Vista 32 bit) everything displayed properly.

Could anyone suggest a possible cause for this and hopefully a remedy?

It's a known issue, and if you follow the tutorial, easily fixed. Although it will take some time.
