do people really dont play multiplayer alot

ok guys I am really beginning to wonder, why there is always no one on trainz 12 multiplayer. I always go on there and almost no one is ever on. I make rooms and have it open for hours and no one joins. my ports are open cause yes I have had people join before. but really, why is it that no every plays multiplayer. I dont get it. they put this in the game for a reason. and no one plays.

why

Perhaps, before NV3 went to the trouble of building in multiplayer, they should have conducted a poll to find out how many people who did not want it. I believe that despite Trainz being marketed as a game, in reality, most regard it as a hobby, dare I say it, "a model railway hobby" and things like multiplayer have no place in it.

If you would look, the last posts (post number 800+) about MP were in Jan. 2 0 1 1.

Perhaps school time, other interests or hobbies are now in the way.

Trainz is my private little world where I go to escape the rest of you.:hehe:

Its pretty hard to run away from the world and then invite you all to come and play,:)

On the other hand, if multiplayer is an option rather than a requirement I don't see that it hurts people who don't like multiplayer.

As for the answer, several things;

1. Gotta have people who have TS12.
2. Gotta have people with TS12 who are interested in multiplayer.
3. Gotta have people with TS12 who are interested in multiplayer who are interested in the same route and session you are.
4. Gotta have people with TS12 who are interested in multiplayer who are interested in the same route and session you are who are not asleep when you're awake and ready to play - it's now 7:50PM here in the central USA, I'm raring to go, but it's almost 2 o'clock tomorrow morning in London, so all my British friends are sleeping.:sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep:

http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/forumdisplay.php?112-Trainz-Multiplayer

That forum was specifically designed for "PARTY ON KRASHNBURNE TOMORROW NIGHT AT 7 US PACIFIC TIME!" announcements, nobody is using it yet. The whole multiplayer thing is relatively new, it may take more time to get it in gear.

I play on the weekends multiplayer form time to time I rader build a route then drive it. if you post a time you wont ppl to join well inavense you may get more ppl interested most ppl only play for a short time. I know went i do a session there on for 20mins or so. I get bored fast drop the session.

just a little idea
Cheers

yea I have the latest patch. and yea I can understand that people dont play multiplayer if they dont want to. and the different time zones and stuff. but thats just what I was looking forward to was multiplayer with trains:'(

So much trouble to make certain all have the same routes, sessions, and content.

I pass trains back and forth with my brother, but we update each other.

Beyond that, tis just a nuisance.

Logistics is the bane of multi player in it's current form, I think most members did not anticipate the hoops.

this is a bit off topic, but euphod, what happens when you hit 10,000 posts? do you get a free product or something? lol

as for replying to the OP, like sniper said, others must have everything you have, and even then, alot of people dont know there is multiplayer. im sure there are people who have ts12 and dont even know there are forums! :(

keep your hopes up, maybe once in a while, start a thread like "hosting MP session in TS12 on sat. and include the route & session.

i would come play, but i have ts2010.

good luck man

Thank you sir for the info.

There does come a time when one opts not to go to go to bed, fearing that that one will wake wearing a dirt blanket!

"To sleep, perchance to dream-
ay, there's the rub."

Like our friend Hamlet life has driven me almost completely mad.

"For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, when we have shuffled off this mortal coil, must give us pause."

Also like Hamlet, I fear the alternative.

So I am stuck here, typing away the time until, to offer proof that I existed once gone.

There's no prize for posting, except the derision and scorn of those that believe it holds some significance. :hehe:

Well, I would like to argue that it is all in the way we approach the route building process. Many routes that use this new tech are relatively last minute additions of sessions. For example, the mojave is a relatively simple objective, but when you get down to it, its a simple session overlay as well. I think routes will need to start accounting for this new dimension or market before it is entirely embraced. This is something Im hoping my route accomplishes upon release, giving people a reason to use multiplayer, that is to perform a task that would otherwise be impossible due to the scale of activities. I definately think this is possible with current routes, but there is going to be some needed changes in the way we look at routes and sessions as a whole.

cheers
