DLS downloads with unknown Kuids.

Something I have been meaning to ask for some time. Recently several items I have tried to download from the DLS fail due to kuid.s in a unknown location. How can this be solved has anyone else had this trouble it would be good to know.

Google is your friend in this case - input the missing KUID into there, and it will tell you where it is. (It also appears to be oknotsen's friend as well, but that's a different story).

Check that a newer kuid2 may have been installed. Some old assets are not kuid2 so the asset may still be looking for the old kuid number. If so just change the config to read kuid2:****:****:1. *** = the kuid number. Sometime a newer version has been used that has a different kuid number and the old one is no longer needed.

I did indeed. I've had to use Google from time to time for finding unknown KUIDS.

If only that were true every time Shane, but unfortunately I've been finding out just recently, that the times that
google comes up with "Your search did not match any results", is becoming more & more frequent.

Unforunately some creators have prevented access to their assets which does not help.

I have found that the missing kuids are on the DLS but when I open up CM and try and use the downlaod helper they keep saying unknown location. and do not download

The Files are for the Berlin bvg trains and one of the troublesome files is for the engine title dora enginesound.

This probably means the assets are for a higher version of trainz than what you have. I have TS2010 and have the same problem when it tells me there are 'updates available' but when I try to get them, I can't. They are only 'available' to TS12 users. In other words, CM is a lying SOB.

Hello Phil,

Post #10 has the clue.

You cannot directly download assets for TS12 because you only have TS10.

What you need to do is go directly to the Download Station and download via FTP downloads page.

well I got them all working after a lot of bother it is confusing when this happens.
