Disney world map

I had an older route I was modding untill I had to do a complete reinstall
So now I wish to get it gong again..My problem was the unique buildings.I tried gmax and even a darn epcot ball proved to much.I use JFE's content so as of now thats what I have I cannot seem to find the route that I was using I belive they took it down it was 04 content. If you want to share what you have That would be great. What we need is a GMAX pro tht can make the buildings. Building the route is the fun part provided you have all the right buildings needed.
I think thats the major thing with us WDW lovers if we can get accurate modles of the buildings we would be all set.We need a team
a building designer
texture and general track layout
I can't make buildings but I can do simple tasks like laying track stations ect which would free up someone that can make the structures. you get the idea a team effort.

It maybe a long time before I put it on the DLS, But I might consider sending it on request to those who are interested. Are you doing the Disney park layout too, and how many other models do you have?

i am working on the smaller disneyland system, for lack of experience in disneyworld. i found that many buildings can be made by using peices of different buidings on the dls

Hello all,

I must say I am very impressed with the work on the monorail system to date.

Signalman, after looking at your site, I have to say I am VERY impressed with your work. I'm drooling over the Monorail and railroad service shop. Will that be available for download soon? I have to have them for my route I'm working on.

For those of you who are interested, this link shows what I've done so far with the monorail stations.

Have sent a reply to your private message.

I have been searching the forum trying to find the person I sent my WDW route Map and content too. I have a new computer, and can not get the files off the old one. I can not continue with the building of the route unless I get a copy of the route. Who ever you are will you please send back a copy of what I sent you???? My email is webmaster@biggsplace.com

If you can get the files,of your old computer but the hard disk still works, for about $30 you can purchase a IDE/Sata to USB adaptor. You just take the hard disk out of the old machine, plug it into the adaptor, then plug the adaptor into a USB port and it will be treated like any other disk. All you have to do after that is copy the needed files from the old drive to the new one. Everything is done externally so you won't void your warranty.
You can copy over any data, but not programs or Windows itself.

You can then place the old drive in a cardboard box and use it as an external backup.

The adaptors are available from any good computer supplier, but not from electrical stores that sell computers or Tandy.

I already bought a dock for USB, and Vista wants me to format the drive before I can use it. Every time I try accessing the drive I get that message, Vista thinks it's a new drive.

This is the wrong place to start a computer discussion so if you want to email me you can do so through my web site. This is a direct e-mail link

I looked at one of those docks a while back, but the cable I purchased (like this one) does the same job for $30.

It's a while since I used my cable, but you do have to set the jumpers on the hard drive a certain way. I think they must be set to Master, but if that doesn't work on your dock, try setting them to slave.

As I said, this thread is for Disney so if you want to respond, please use the email link. Please don't PM because my PM box gets choked.

I got it ok, but for some reason TRS 2004 doesn't see the map. I tried it in both custom and downloads. I also tried installing in TS2009, and it shows in the program, but it wouldn't let it run, saying it was missing content, or was faulty. I know it is missing content, as I can't get some of what it needs off the other computer.

intresting it may be because i did some minor work on it (boat docks) was trying to make the ferry landing at the MK..did't turn out well....

I have ordered a program called Knoppix which is due by mail, and it is suppose to be able to boot my old computer with out needing windows working. I have a 4 gig USB stick that I am going to use to transfer the files to my new computer. If this works I will have all my files back, and the original map should work. I will be glad to send any new additions I make to you for your help.

Does my Disney map work on your computer? Which version of trainz are you using it in? Would you try sending the whole route to me again maybe something didn't come through the last time? In stead of sending the CDP file, try a copy and paste of the KUID as a attachment in email.

UPDATE: Hi all, well I managed to restore my files from my old computer using Knoppix. The new computer is much faster, and runs Trainz better then before. Even though TRS 2004 is not Vista ready I have it installed using the compatible mode. I have both TRS2006, and TS2009 but only installed 2009. I installed both of my maps back into 2004, and using TO and TOE found, and installed all missing content. The problem is that I keep getting the black screen saying, " Map has missing custom content" and " load map any way." I even went in to surveyor and used the remove missing content function, and it still shows missing content, but doesn't list what content. I can't see what is missing except for the Contemporary Hotel, which is in the TO list, and displays in TOE, but is not in the add list in surveyor. My other map is the same way, but I can't see any missing items there either.

I also imported the maps into TS 2009, and they both work, and hotel is on the map there. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this problem? If JFE is out there do you know why the hotel will not show in TRS 2004 surveyor? I re-down loaded it from the DL station with no luck.

I want to continue with the building of my routes, but now I can't get Gmax to work on this computer. Even though Gmax has not been upgraded to Vista I have it installed along with Trainz Asset Creation Studio. It will open just as it use to, but I can not work on the models that I open. When I click on a pane they all turn solid white, and I can not draw in them.

I down loaded the last version of Gmax and installed it first like we are suppose too, then installed the plug in studio. I tried installing all over again, but it is the same. There must be other content creators who have new Vista computers are you having the same trouble, and what are you doing about it??

I am use to Gmax and do well with it. I do not want to have to learn another drawing program. I tried Blender and didn't like it. Unless there is a way of resolving this problem my modeling days are over, and any further work on my routes.

Gordon, people have reported success with gMax and Vista in other threads so it should work. Are you running it in compatibility mode like Trainz? that will probably be essential. The latest version of gMax is over 5 years old and probably designed for Win 2000,or at the best, XP.

Glad to hear you managed to save everything with Knoppix.

Yes! I even took the whole thing out, and reinstalled several times from different download places, and installed both with/without administrative privilages. It still will not work, and I don't know what else to try. I hope some one who had the same problem will chime in here and tell me what they did to get it to work. I found some one on another forum for Gmax who is having the same problem, he posted a screen capture that looks just like what I am experencing, but no one has answered him yet. (Gmax version 1.2) I might add it is Gmax that is at fault not the trainz plug in. Since it does the same thing if I run Gmax by itsself.
