Discontinuing and ending Trainz franchise for PC Users....

That was a bit messy. :P

John

Well, you could always write the lyrics of "Never gonna give you up" on the back of a piece of toilet roll.

"We're no strangers to love,
you know the rules and so do I.
A full of commitments, what I am thinking of,
you wouldn't hear this from any other guy......."

I'll stop right there.

1st of April, a good one :-}

Well good people, I had some of you fooled:hehe:.

I placed enough clues into the interview with Primus [first] A.Prilla to spot that this was not "quite"right :p.

Watch out for next year :Y:.

:D good one! just plausible enough to get me going for a few minutes. I was almost concerned!

After a lengthy discussion I had with a spokes person from N3V Publishing I was told that N3V Publishing will end the development of Trainz for the PC platform very shortly. Mr Primus A Prilla, Chairman of the N3V shareholder's Association and main shareholder in N3V publishing announced today that N3V publishing will end development on all current work of the Trainz franchise forthwith and will concentrate on coding, development, publishing and promoting Trainz for console games only. After some more questions of which console franchises might be involved, Mr Primus A Prilla would not exactly commit himself on which platforms these might be but my understanding is, this will involve XBox 360, Nintendo and PS2 among possibly other platforms. As well as concentrating on developing Trainz for Apple's IPot and IPad and many other Android formats.

James W Kirk GameSpot Direct (PC Games).

I need someone from Auran or NV3 to verify that the above message is genuine or not.

Yeah, that sounds April Fool's Day alright. Hints:

*A Prilla: April
*PS2 is obsolete, yet they still sell it and make games for it!

Too bad it is only an April Fools joke. It is a pain having to get a new version every two years. I was hoping for the stability resulting from no more PC development.:hehe:

The OP should be ashamed of himself for posting this on a Forum known to be a home for the terminally gullible.

That was a top notch April Fools Joke. The one thing dedicated Trainzers fear is N3V going out of business or otherwise discontinuing Trainz. Your thread certainly played up to their fears and provoked a strong reaction. Good one!

Wow Vinny.... I was just catching up cause I was out yesterday. Had to read that one twice!! Sad reality is that if N3V DID decide to can it, we could only hope they'd be decent and let us know. Most companies don't say a word till "see ya" cause they don't want to lose out on any $$.

I must admit, even that we all know it is a joke, I would expect an N3V communication employee to have replied to this topic simply because of potential new customers not reading more then the title deciding not to buy the product. I know I would not have bought the (latest version of the) game if I got the impression the company making it would have stopped support.

Hi All
This is an April Fools joke, as has been pointed out by VinnyBarb himself.

I refrained from replying for the duration of 'April 1st' for other regions, however I can confirm that VinnyBarb's post is not accurate. We do not plan to end support for PC for Trainz, nor will we be ending support for these products, except where outlined by the Trainz LifeCycle policy.

Regards

HaHa. Primus A Prilla? I admit I had to read partway thru before getting it. The name was too odd sounding, not to mention it has April in it. That was a good April Fools, but hopefully new members didn't get too upset at the possibility.
I would be very sad if it was ever true. Thank goodness its not.
