Discontinuing and ending Trainz franchise for PC Users....

I'm beginning to think that as well, unless a link is produced that confirms the story.

P.S. I always seem to get caught out by April 1st jokes.

Not sure about this, but then, has anybody noticed this is 1 April 2012? Is it just me, or is that April Fools Day?

Cheers

There is a long history of this kind of April 1st joke in the UK in the pages of Railway Modeller magazine. One that I recall was a model of the London Underground system under the floorboards - I believe, without looking for that magazine amongst my collection, that it was in the space between the ceiling of the ground floor and the floor of the upper story, operated by the owner standing on a step ladder with his head through a hole in the ceiling.

Another was a recreation on a beach of a long desert route set in Australia - the Nullarbor?- to scale length in 4mm scale.

And yet another was a set-up where the operator could speak into a telephone and get a reply.

There have been many more - always with the date April 1st printed on that page instead of the usual month and year only.

Oh, and there was the giraffe wagon where the giraffe lowered its head on approaching a tunnel - but I believe Traing actually made something like this!

Model/Scale Trains magazine once had a layout called Lirpa Loof, described as a very backward place.

A good try - but old hands will not fall for it! There's always a clue which gives it away.

Yep, the giraffe wagon did exist. And a version with a sniper on top was also produced for Tri-Ang's battle series.

Hmm, if you think about it, allthough third party content creation would be possible in theory, console manufacturers are very strict on what can be installed on their consoles and want to have a last say on every addon that's installed. For something like trainz that relies heavily on third party content, free or otherwise, this would mean a restriction in available assets that's unheard of.

So, april fools for sure. :hehe:

Greetings from sunny Amsterdam,

Auran would notify us on the official announcements thread if they were really quitting Trainz for PC's. Sounds to me just like a prank of someone trying to "get your goat."

As well as concentrating on developing Trainz for Apple's IPot and IPad and many other Android formats.

That's uh....Apple's new low flush digital toilet, right?

Fellas, there are reasons why I love you guys, and this is one of them.

Soooooo, on an unrelated note, has the Fontaine been made for TRZ? An April 1st if I ever saw one!
