hi!
while waiting at my monney to be on my paypal account in order to buy "trainz simulator 2010" i was checking out the prices of TS 2010.
i found the "auran" site ( http://www.auran.com/auran/store/index.php?p=3&PID=198 ) and the "just trains" site ( http://www.justtrains.net/product.asp?pid=529 ),both with the same product.the only difference i can see is that the second one has "just trains" on the lower part of the box.
simple question;is the content of the box the same?

It's a bit more than that - the Just Trains version require you to download at least the first patch (I think there are two) from their website, not from here.

Also, on some Just Trains versions of Trainz (not sure if TS2010 is one of the affected ones) you have to have the disc in the drive to run it.

The other part to it is that if you buy from the Auran site all the money goes to Auran but if you buy from Just Trains they take a slice of the money for themselves. I always prefer to buy from Auran as I know then that they have received all the money.

Back in circa mid-2009, I got TRS2004 directly from Auran. Well, every part of the game says "Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004", except for the game itself! The game itself says "Trainz Railway Simulator 2004", and is the build 2370 JustTrains version. However, I have never had to have the DVD in the drive when running it, it works just fine, like the "regular" version.

Anyway, I agree that it would be best to get the game directly from Auran/N3V Games. Auran is not only the company that sells Trainz, it is the company that actually developed it and the Auran JET 3D game engine that it uses. So, it would probably be best to buy "factory"-direct from Auran, the same thing being true for many other thing by other companies.

Besides, with Auran, you can sometimes get a 20%-off coupon on TS2010. I have two, and getting TS2010 for $40 is quite a bit better than the normal $50, but even then it is still a little bit pricey (for me). An upgrade for TS2010 is still probably in my future, though. ;) :p :D

Regards.

thanks guys!
enough reason to buy directly from auran.
sadly i can't edit the title of this post into "auran versus just trains version",in this way other interested would be better informed.

Well I ordered my TS2010 Engineers Edition (full boxed version) directly from the most inexpensive retailer on E-Bay I could find. I own no stock in Auran and money is too tight nowadays to be a chaitable contributor to ANY company. I won't say exactly how much I paid, but I will say it was HALF what Auran was asking for the product.

I agree, and acquired my 2010 in the same fashion, as you well know. I have bought many copies of Trainz directly from Auran in the past, but only because they weren't as widely distributed as they are today.

Actually, you can edit the title of your post. Go to your first post in this thread and click edit then click go advanced. Now you can edit the existing title or for posts that you haven't entered a title, you can add a title.

rweber95, this only seems to work if no-one has replied to your thread yet (I tried the same thing, but it did not update in the forum list itself)
